Well, I'm pretty much tired of having no money. I'm going to spend the next 2.5 months working balls to the wall, 8-10 hours a day working on this shit. I wasn't able to find a minimum wage job, so I'm going to do IM. My goal for June is to make a profit of $1,300 USD, and I don't give a fuck how I'm going to do it. My goal is that by the middle of August I will have 3,500 - 4,000 dollars. I'll post here every day with an update of what I'm going to do for that day, and then detail it clearly what I will do. Maybe some other people can pick up on what I'm doing and be successful. I'm only doing this for the summer; after it, I'm focusing the fuck on school.

Anyway, here's what I have to start:

  • Moderate C# and Python knowledge
  • Previous history in IM, so I know a little bit
  • One site from my previous IM experience that is doing well and thriving
  • $200 USD to my name
That's about it. Starting tomorrow, fucking 05/23/2013, when I fucking wake up, I'm posting what the fuck I'm doing and will do it. I'm sick and tired, I've been throwing these ideas for 2 months and I haven't done shit. I'm going to fucking do it.

Sorry if the post came off kind of mad, I'm just pissed as fuck at myself. I'll see you tomorrow WF.

Before all the "get fucked" comments come in, just wanted to wish you good luck. Hope it works out for you.

W.

Today I'll be discovering niches that I know about, and then finding out if it's worth performing SEO on them. I have about 5 or 6 niches I will build up, and so far this is what I've done:
1. Googled primary keyword to see the competition
2. Went onto Google Keyword Tool and found out the exact amount of monthly searches for each term, and stuck all of it into an excel file
3. Analyzed other possible keywords suggested by Google
4. Found 5 keywords that I will target in each niche

This is what I've done so far. I will now:

  • Read through the guides on WickedFire before purchasing any domains
  • Determine if EMDs are worth it (I'm doing strictly Micro Niche Sites)
  • Start writing up articles (unique, actual, good, content) for my sites
I'll check back in around 10PM EST to see how well I've done.

10pm update (or 12am update): Today was relatively uneventful. I spent most of the day reading, and was only able to put in 4-5 hours worth of actual work. Some things I did:

  • Set up first website, using an EMD for the domain
  • Spent about 2-3 hours reading the different guides on BHW and WF, and on what specific WordPress plugins to get
  • Built the design for the website (relatively quick operation)
  • Wrote the first 2 articles for my site (each 400+ words)
  • Lastly, bought a $20 blog list from a guy on here, but he hasn't logged in a few days, so I'm not sure if I will get it anytime soon.
Tomorrow I start doing backlinks for my first site, I will be reading how to get good backlinks in general.
What I read:
http://www.wickedfire.com/traffic-content/6087-wickedfire-guide-seo.html
http://www.wickedfire.com/traffic-content/12690-complete-guide-wordpress-blogging.html
http://static.googleusercontent.com.../search-engine-optimization-starter-guide.pdf
And I read stuff on other sites, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post stuff from BHW here.

Keep in mind those links from here that you posted are about 5 years old.

I want to say you'd be better off not reading anything else, just stick to writing content and building backlinks, but I know I would have found a way to justify more reading if I were in your shoes. Really though, there isn't much you're going to read that gives you anything more than a marginal edge over 'build links, write content' in terms of SEO content. SEO stuff I'd recommend reading:

Buy Ca$hvertising and The Millionaire Fastlane if you want to improve your copywriting/read about the bigger picture accordingly.

Sadly I couldn't do much today. I was roped into family duties and it took up most of the day, and I'm pooped, so sadly no link building today. I fear the next few days will be the same. What I have done:
1. Published first article
2. Built sitemap/installed plugins (and optimized them)
3. Read (thanks to @Staccs) on how to build good backlinks, will be doing this tomorrow
4. Submitted url to google, bing, tons of places, along with pinged my blog.
Sadly VERY little, probably 2-3 hours of work today. I am hoping the weekend is better but I'm not sure.

Very little work done today because of spending all day with the family doing stupid shit. I was only able to write a few articles, and submitted them to EzineArticles.
Today it was indexed by google and bing, now it's just backlinks from here on out I'm assuming (while also writing good content). I will keep reporting back, it just sucks this family shit is happening right now.

Ezinearticles backlinks are good, but did you submit multiple articles to ezinearticles? If you did it just for the links, you could have done just one. If you did for the traffic, I wouldn't suggest it. The CTR on the links in resource box would come out to be too low. You can use other parasites which will allow you to place links higher up in article body.

Sorry I meant I sent one to ezinearticles, was tired when I wrote it up. I had written up a few articles, I just put one on there.

Not much done again today (fucking weekends), but I was able to find a bit out about competitors. What I did do today:
1. Went onto Google Keyword Tool and got a bunch of long tail keywords. I stuck those in a notepad file (it was about 40 of them), and used those for anchor text.
2. One of my websites looks salvageable, so I spent some time on that one.
3. Got backlinks for the 2 sites (10 on one, 15 on the other), based on the google keyword tool and by finding websites using: Google Search Operators - Google Guide

Tomorrow will undoubtedly be more shit that I have to do, so sadly small updates again. It's looking grim for my June deadline, so working 8-10 hours next week all week is a must.

Spend about 1-2 hours of work today.

Not much today. Spent about 2 hours building links using the tactic described above. I did install SEOQuake as an add-on to help shave down time I spend searching for sites. I did end up updating 2 of my sites though, and installing the monetization (content locker), hopefully it all turns out well.

Be careful that you're not getting into the habit of "not much today". Don't lie to yourself by saying you didn't have time. You can always go to bed an hour later, skip TV, skip gaming, wake up an hour earlier, etc.

I don't know anyone who doesn't have routine struggles with productivity, but don't convince yourself that you would do more if you had the time. You probably have the time.

I wish I had more-- spent almost all day with the family. Kind of sucks because I have no car and I'm home for college, so I can't get away from them without spending time with them. They all have work tomorrow, so I will actually be working hard tomorrow. Going to sleep now though, need to wake up early so I can be on a good schedule :).
