It's a minor wonder people don't loathe us more.

Interestingly, of the European countries that have been left alone, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Andorra and Monaco are all tiny tax havens.

Small island nation mentality if you ask me. Some kind of superiority complex.

Interesting indeed. Of course The Crown offers some pretty serious tax haven opportunities itself - Isle of Man, Jersey, Guernsey, Cayman Islands, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands etc etc..

Given the above and since "we" cleared up the whole Portugal-Netherlands war thing.. yeah. Not to mention most nation states consist of arbitrary borders with little regard to ethnicity (most likely drawn by drunk Europeans.) So, for example, Cape to Cairo Railway - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia probably accounts for most of the African 'incursions'..
