It's not hard to understand, but it's not the complete picture. I.E. if large portions of middle class families can't afford luxuries it also cuts in the economy. Point being, it is NOT JUST THE RICH that provide jobs. If the middle class and other income classes aren't buying shit it means less jobs as well...
It's about balance.
Agreed, The economy rests in the hands of middle & upper class. $25M yachts are not the only thing powering our economy (it's really just an example). There is a balance and it's mostly about luxury items, things that aren't food, clothing & shelter.
You won't hear an argument from me about the middle class and small businesses being overlooked ... we (yes I'm included there) push a huge portion of our economy and account for large chunks of what little growth is happening.
This conversation is about robbing from the rich and giving to the poor ... not the middle class. If this pillaging happens, the sheeple will be happy short term ... then they will all lose jobs and our economic meltdown happens faster than Al Gore can say global warming.
Look at the graph below that someone posted. The middle class is almost exactly the same with either party in office, the only noteworthy difference being upper and lower classes. This is the real difference between asses & elephants.
2 scary things I need to point out.
1> under $66k represents 60% of tax payers yet the only person the democrats have put in office in over 2 decades is Bill Clinton. If this is true then why doesn't the lower class own the presidency?
answer: ignorance & irresponsibility, which leads me to ...
2> if extra tax money is in the hands of 1 group, which would be the most beneficial for America?
The correct answer is middle class but since we don't have that option ... I certainly don't want to put the fate of America's dollar in the hands of the ignorant and irresponsible. They won't open businesses, they won't invest & they won't save. They will just spend frivolously (short term boom, more of the same long term). This is what we are seeing from these little tax breaks that Bush has given ... They provide no real substance for growth.
If I have to choose one or the other I choose the rich. It hasn't worked out so bad for America so far.

In closing ... the middle class & small businesses had a representative, his name was Ron Paul and he got laughed off the stage by 95% of America. He was a true Republican, an economist and a doctor. He was not a politician!
FUCK ALL YOU SHEEPLE WHO DID THIS TO OUR COUNTRY!!! Now we're choosing from the lesser of 2 evils again ... but fear not, common sense will rise again!
