Even if it's not exclusive it adds to the supply and economics 101 still works for driving prices of gas down. Also, less shipping is required so prices aren't further inflated. I live in the Netherlands and the poor are well taken care of here, at the same time our economy has always been very healthy compared to other industrialized countries. So this proves that it can be done. Yes, it does come with the sacrifice of having to pay high taxes. But hey, the system works! It's a healthy climate for both businesses, the less fortunate and everyone in between.
Canada would agree with you, both countries have legalized pot in some areas so we could definitely learn a thing or two from them. As it stands, our government only gives money to the people who don't give anything back. Fix this and I'll have less of a problem paying the higher taxes.

The US has always leaned more towards entrepreneurship in particular which is fine, but the Bush/McCain policies have thrown this way overboard, not to mention they have retarded judgment in other areas as well. What good is a tax cut if you can't keep you finger off the trigger and jump right into war without practicing strong diplomacy? It's a weakness that the people are now paying for.

Can't really disagree here either as the two you mentioned are complete tools. War = Debt ... I don't think anyone can argue this point.

That said, the conservative ideals are the only viable way of building a greater, more self sufficient country. It's just a shame that politics have stepped in and corrupted what is truly a good mindset. Thomas Jefferson would be ashamed! This is very similar to what religion has done to spirituality.

I refuse to fold to the threat of crime. I live in a state where gun ownership is a right of passage and many criminals are dealt with harshly. To say the poor will commit crime if I stop giving them handouts makes me feel that much less compassion for them when they get their asses shot by the cops.

In fact, I find it amusing to see the criminals meet the smoking end of a gun.

Revolution? Maybe. Just don't forget we're dealing with the lower end of society here. They are out gunned and under-funded, and don't forget, stupid and lazy - I don't see any of them being up to the task honestly.

So we're currently supporting them and still have a insanely high crime rate. The answer is not to continue with more of the same, that's crazy talk.

Take money from welfare and build up the police force, this will help stop the crime. With the amount we are sinking into welfare we can have a police force 5x what it currently is. This provides more jobs. This is also temporary until people figure out crime doesn't work and they get off their lazy arses and get a job. At this point the economy thrives and there is less of a need for this inflated police force ... tax money returned.

A revolution we need, but if you think one started by uneducated poor people doing drive-by shootings will go anywhere you are sorely mistaken.

Furthermore, a danegeld is a tax paid so as not to get raped and pillaged by an outside country. This is not how America does things and further pisses me off to look at welfare from that angle.

We do not negotiate with mercenaries ... we nuke them.

The money currently comes from China ... which is a bigger issue than welfare at this point.

Debt is the biggest problem we are currently facing today and exactly why I'm so passionate about this topic at the moment. But make no mistake, all these arguments tie in together.

If it's ok for our gov't to borrow from China (!?!?) and print money out of thin air with no assets backing these funds, it's also ok for a single mom making $22k yearly to take out a $5k credit card to buy Johnny a new bike and drop a couple hundred on back to school clothes for developerz's junior year of HS. This is absolutely wrong and shows fiscal irresponsibility to the max. But honestly, she's just learning from our government so it's hard to blame that single mom. She needs to thrift and get on a budget and tell her money where to go, not the other way around.

We need massive cuts to keep us afloat ... big gov't, irs, welfare, military, foriegn aid, social security, etc. .... and that's just not going to happen though it's the right thing to do. I'm aware of this which is the only reason I suggest tax breaks for the rich. Sounds weird doesn't it? It's definitly a case of the lesser of two evils.

The only way to keep up with the spending (since it's not going anywhere) is to make more money, which is where tax breaks to the rich come into play.

Poor and welfare are two totally separate things, thanks for pointing that out. Welfare is abused by 90% of the recipiants. Being poor at this point is just being a product of the system. You can work 3 jobs and make $80k/year and still be poor because of debt. But guess what? That person is NOT lazy!

Republicans don't have issues with poor folk, just giving tax breaks to the rich is the easiest way to "duct tape" the problem. Give that money to many poor people and the % that each gets is very small and there is little they can do with it. Give that same money to the rich and the % is much larger (because the rich are the top 3%) and they can build more American business.

Make no mistake, neither party has the answer. We need someone who can think outside the box (ala Ron Paul). Major reform is needed all around to keep us in good shape, no question to it.

Social security gets cut now and those under 50 or so will get nothing, funds keep coming to the elders as they don't have a chance to fund their retirement. Is it fair? Absolutely not, but the line has to be drawn somewhere. I know it's not going to be there for me and I'd like to be able to opt out of paying it ASAP while still funding the retired people that require it.

At least this way there is an end in sight and my daughter doesn't have to suffer. Think of how bad this situation will be in 20 years
