Me Owning Facebooks CPC

Hey admin, I sent you an email from my office account earlier this weekend. Did you review it by any chance? I will send you a private message now with the address so you can whitelist it just in case it has been caught up in your spam filter.

No, Admin just doesn't respond to his PMs. ;)

My bet is this guy is not from Facebook. His statements are suspect and baiting ("hear from our legal team"). For what exactly? There is no clear TOS, so what contract are they breaching? Can a mod confirm his info to verify if it's from facebook servers or email?

Just looked it up...

Registered under: 69.63.176.11 -- I got an email from the same guy this weekend on a similar IP also registered to FaceBook, so yeah, it appears to be legitimate. Although a phone conversation will solidify it for me.

Brian- Got your email already, wasn't sure how to respond to it. PM me with what you are looking for exactly, because if it's data, we don't share our users data with anyone, unless we're subpeona'd (sp?). So by all means, monitor all ya like, but I don't care how nice you or someone else is, we're not sharing shit. Unless of course you want to play the "you show me yours and I'll show you mine" game and send me over some user data you guys collect on surfing habits and lots of other fun shit from FaceBook, then sure, I'm sure no one will mind. :D

And we aren't blocking your posts... you are just being moderated and checked out by hand, except we aren't charging you for pay per clicks, although maybe we should now.. ;)

Have fun getting sued for paying FB money guys! rofl

That has to be one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. What did you honestly think was going to happen if you opened a contextual advertising company. People would promote shit that doesn't make money? Yea...I'm sure the advertisers really caused a lot of damages for a multi-million dollar company to collect on too.

You would be shocked at the questions we are asked by spammers trying to save themselves or trying to 'game' our system by asking us questions. We actually have lots of fun with some of the replies and I am sure many have been confused to the point where they do not ask again, hehe

Most of the people who have made it clear in this board thread have already been identified, and will be hearing from our legal team shortly.

Legal team? If the advertisers didn't break anything in your TOS, there's no legal basis for anything.

Given that your advertising TOS and Advertising Guidelines mention NOTHING about legal action, or any action except for the cancellation of ad accounts (stopping ads from running), I don't think there will be any legal threats out there.

Also, to the entire WickedFire crowd - seriously, there's no need to game the system. If you found something that was successful, save yourself a shitload of time & do a large media buy where you're not recreating accounts every 5 minutes. Not that hard.

Glad to see that FaceBook and the RIAA share the same sense of business savvy when it comes to lawsuits and PR, jackass :repuke:

Thats funny as fuck that they would subpoena a single fucking record from shit, because we're are what?

Sharing how well we are doing and helping each other out as a community... I advise against creating a bunch of accounts and taking advantage of using the same credit card on multiple accounts... Thats something your crack fucking team of web wizards should be up to...

As for people who are just trying to promote and get paid their Commission... FB will eventually have to install new securities, or us as the advertisers are going to see downfalls... I mean shit... I keep praisin the guys doing what they're doin to make some cash...

But don't come here flaming actin like you're tough shit.... following ip - and oo spoof - fuck shit random sputter...

Why would FB need to collect any data from here is my more general question? If need be, you could collect it yourselves using IP tracking... since you know all kinda of stupid shit...

Man I could just keep going on and on with this shit...

Maybe instead worrying about shitty iphone ads, why not fucking try something that applies more to the college genere, and actually "helps" students, that way if you end up owning it, you're happy, facebook is happy, student is happy.

I dunno, this shouldn't go on for 5 pages, not that 14 spend 114 earned isn't fan fucking tastic, but seriously? what is the point if its not longer-term.

Like I said earlier, why is FB acting dumb and not just letting everybody know that they do not want affiliates. Affiliate Marketing is not illegal. If you don't want affiliates on your site, you need to say so. Affiliates help promote businesses and corporations get paid to promote their services/products just like advertising.

I e-mailed your company and asked directly, "DO YOU ALLOW AFFILIATES? I NOTICED HOW SOME OF YOUR FLYERS SEEM TO BE FROM YOUR OWN USERS."

This is the response I got:

"We accept advertising from our users and from business
corporations. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Thanks for contacting Facebook,

OK SLUT, THESE "BUSINESSES" USE AFFILIATES TO HELP PROMOTE THEM.

SO IF YOU DON'T WANT AFFILIATES SAY SO, DON'T PLAY STUPID.

YOU HAVE YOUR "SECURITY" TEAM CHECKING IP'S AND SHIT, BUT YOU'RE TOO FUCKING STUPID TO HIRE A LAWYER TO GET A LEGIT T.O.S..

You're just pissed people are figuring out your system, that's why your dumbass just showed up out of nowhere.

I dunno.. it's not illegal to advertise through a ppc system as long as you are paying and not crapping out on the payouts to the service provider, nothing wrong there. BUT, I can see why FB would be pissed off, I mean let's face it, they have their terms, just like everyone else does, and they clearly care about the quality, because no other company has ever fixed the issue they were having sooooo quickly. That has to be some sort of response time record if you think about it. Sure, their TOS is really gay, but you know what, it's THEIR terms, not ours or yours, and they aren't here to do anyone any favors either, they are here to make money and run themselves like a business (even if they pretend like Google does and try to get people to like them and think they are here to spread cheer and glee everywhere).

Whatever, I was about to get into it, and maybe this saves me from doing so or getting into any legal shit that I sure as hell don't want to get into. But there isn't anything illegal going on, whatsoever, but, remember guys, this isn't like Myspace, they do have your personal data, so it's not like they have to look or try very hard to do anything about it.

money is money. That 114 can be multiplied.

Being a college student that uses facebook all the time,

I must rather click on getting a free ipod touch than anything relating to college. College students don't give a damn about random things dealing with books or loans because they already see it all the time.

Maybe that means they want you to spam Clickbank products with long sales pages.

Well at least you got something that almost makes sense.

I wonder how many people they have working non stop deleting accounts.

That's exactly what I thought - but my first ad was disabled after less than 100 impressions.

I was promoting a seduction ebook with lots of info on the sales page.

well, what would make students happy then?

how about article services?

i live right by a college, i hear how the workload burned them out all the time. Or maybe specifically target organizations/networks on fb ;)

loans are more for google and yahoo, if you're results orientated. I can understand facebook users not being too interested in offers, but then again you'd have to see who is searching for what. i'm sure their advertising support/coop team will evolve along with the ppc engine.

So i just attempted and failed..

Account got disabled after 1300 impressions ;x.

hmmm.. filters are getting better i guess? I had a free ipod touch campaign... and i made zero indication about anything dealing with ipods or free shit.

Hmmm....
