Its not a new hipster thing, dubstep has been around for like 15 years. The difference is that it used to be low on the end of the electronic music played because it used to be very repetitive, kinda boring, and really to be honest...was only music u could listen to for any length of time if you were on hard drugs like ketamine, mdma, or ghb.
Now it is becoming more mainstream being used by pop stars, hip hop artists, etc. Also, they are making dubstep (well, some of it anys) that you can dance to in clubs. They already have a ton of club dubstep tracks in Europe. You really just need to find you taste in dubstep and listen to that shit cuz there is way too many different dubstep sounds. I like the rasta sounding slow dubstep and the uptempo club beats that kinda sound like they could be hiphop beats...and then the ocassion filthy bass drops. BTW - Skrillex puts on an awesome show guys...I saw him twice. He plays electro house fused with dupstep (mostly his songs) and then mixes some hiphop too. Hes a good producer, but now need to learn to spin vinyl.
Eagle, how could you not bob your head to this sound at high volumes after smoking one or drinking a few...
