Here I will document my journey to 30k a year. My husband and I just had our baby and I want to stay at home with her! So, I'll take any input I can during my journey. Feel free to correct me in mistakes, or just make any damn comment you want to this thread.

I'm on EST and work a full time job currently. If I don't get anything out during the afternoon, I'll be updating my thread in the evenings. Here's what I'll be accomplishing tonight when I get home.

Signup for at least two affiliate networks.

I'm thinking about doing Clickbank and Share a sale. I've heard Clickbank carries a lot of shit ebooks, so we'll see if Share a sale looks promising. Tonight I should have a product selected with some keyword research I'll be posting back up here.

I downloaded MarketSamurai and the keyword research tool appears to be still functional after my 15 day trial ended. I'll post up my screens this evening after I've selected the product I plan on marketing. I might register the domain this evening as well.

Budget: 100 bones
 


I should also say I'll be focusing on both organic searches and PPC. I'll be trying to hit the on and off page SEO hard at first then move into Google PPC.
 
Productivity tip: write while you're taking a shit. It's multi-tasking at it's finest.
 
Good luck to ya. Make sure to create a thread in the Shooting the Shit section introducing yourself and click on through to any recommendations people give you. You'll find lots of help here.
 
I did a little research on Clickbank today and here's what I've come up with so far. I'm trying to find stuff I'm interested in (Good for article writing). So here's a little list I've come up with so far. I've yet to narrow this list down and start on some keyword research on each market.

Clickbank Affiliate Potential

1. PC registry fixer

2.DVD and Game backup

3. some flight simulator

4. tattoo stuff

5. Government Auctions

6. The countdown until the year 2012 (I'm sure this would be a tough market lol..)

7. Game testing

8. Cooking

9. The awesome WII console!

Decision decisions... I'll keep all of you posted on my selection this evening!
 
From personal experience I can tell you Clickbank is a really shitty network to run traffic to starting out. Their landing pages suck, their products are overpriced and you will have a hell of a time converting anything.

Do you have any recommendations on another network? The second network I'm going to register on is ShareASale
 
Doing the above is not going to make you much, you need to join a CPA network like C2M, COPEAC, Neverblue, CX Digital, etc...........

I would say there is no need to be a dick but this WF after all, so whatevs.

More importantly, to the mods, how about a subforum in the newbie section for journal threads. Some of them like Lemon's get to be really popular. How about grouping them altogether, the people that start them and post there get a sense of newbie camaraderie and anybody that finds them annoying can avoid them altogether.
