Need Wickedfire Advice/Insults/Gay

How much do you charge per hour? How many hours is the task going to take you? If what he's offering you is more than this amount, then it's a fair offer. If it's less, ask for more.

I'm not trolling I am enjoying the discussion and the pointers. I am charging $1000 per month to keep clients ranked and traffic coming into their websites. I also have charged $3000 up front for first month. I got these numbers from a seminar I attended in Dallas with Kevin Wilke. I used to charge a lot less. I felt like I was underselling so I raised my prices, upsold clients, offered money back guarantees and had some success with that. However this year was a little slower, I have tried a few other pricing models too.

Thanks Mike..I think there may be some legs to that...but come on dude, if you partnered with a company and they started selling the shit out of your clients wouldnt that piss you off? Or am I bonkers here??!! That just made me get out with them since, again there was no value in it for me! I was making them money and they did not close any deals for me...get it? It would have been a different story if they gave me a scrape of the money they made with my clients. Has anyone had a good experience with local deals like this? Any good experiences with teaming up with a company and having a win/ win business venture?? I'm guessing not so far. : \

Dude you're getting butt raped.

Sometimes in business relationships you have a young person who doesn't know what he's worth. And the other party makes fucktons of money of the very special combination of ignorance of his own value, lack of confidence, and competence in his skill.

Everybody goes through this.

Here's what you do. Find a designer and pay him per project, while keeping a very fat cut. This isn't that hard to do. There are plenty of creative people out there who suck at client acquisition, and would jump for something like this.

If you're going to do a partnership(50-50) do it with someone who knows what the hell they're doing client wise(i.e they can justify higher prices to clients because of their experience, thus making it worth it to have them as an equal partner). The best partner is someone who can sell the clients well and convert them after you bring a lead in.

Where's BGBL? I'd be searching her posts if I was looking at local.

Thanks I'll look for them. If you know any good ones please share.
I'm curious, approximately how many hours/month do you put into client for that $1000?

I dont charge by the hour. I have a month to month performance based contract and the client can cancel with 30 day notice anytime.

Thanks thats kind of what I was thinking. I knew WF was a good place to get my bearings. : ]

Thanks for your reply. Maybe it is "noob shit"...so what? This is the first time I have entered into a performance based commission venture like this, and after posting here it has made me think..."why would I enter into an agreement with three people and only get 8%." With what I would be doing I just think I should be getting more of a share than that. From what I have seen here no one here is doing any type of performance based ventures like this, so I'm guessing everyone is equity or rate based. So yeah you could say its "noob shit" since I'm trying to get my bearings. I already have clients that I charge monthly but this guy is trying to set up something I have no experience with. I offered him my normal prices and he wanted to do this instead, so, yeah I could walk away, I already make good money, but I am open to trying new things if they make sense and are win/ win and that is what I am trying to figure out. Having said that, Mr. ( or Ms.?) Ccarter, or anyone, how about a strategy or a number that you think is good and why you think its good in regard to this performance based scale I'm describing...?

That would be helpful if you have the time.

EDIT: Had to move period inside quotation mark.

I think ccarter is a chick. Or. Maybe there is no ccarter. I think she/he said that once in a thread on here. That there was no real person ccarter. From what I can gather ccarter is a mystical brand and as I imagine this branded person they are making a lot of cash and they are very happy, though a little bossy. I personally like ccarter a lot. The do you even lift video is iconic and it made me feel good. Sometimes I think that girl in the video is ccarter. For a while I had thought that the girl might be ccarters girlfriend, i.e., that ccarter is a dude. Now that I think about it, it may hurt me to know ccarter isn't a chick. Ccarter will you do a gender reveal, or is that going to far to ask that? Also I am curious about dripflix.

You know Ccarter is doing something right if his/her mystery has members hi jack threads in Wickedfire lol

Meanwhile I'm sitting here trying to gain insight about local performance marketing partnerships

When I was reading that, I got the impression that this was a troll.

If it's legit, then:

1) Not enough info, you didn't even tell us how much your time is worth.

2) Instead of ranking his design biz, why not rank your own design biz and then outsource the design?

3) How do you even know he'll pay you? He'll just say he got 2 leads this month when he actually got 50.

4) Whenever people come outside the business come at me with some new amazing opportunity, I tune out. Doing business with friends is a no-no, because nobody works as hard as you (I) do and eventually it just gets annoying as shit hearing from these people. I only do business with people who are already making money on relatively the same playing field as I am (or more).

Of course you are charging by the hour. You decided at some point that you put in approximately X number of hours to do that job that you do for a client and earn $1000 for that time. Now divide that $1000 by the number of hours you put in to earn it and you have your hourly rate.

What if he charged by the amount of fucks given?

Thanks for your replies. I dont begrudge him for it. I just think I should make more money than him if he's doing jack shit nothing.
I didn't read this whole thread, but this did stick out to me.

If I own a business, and I hire people to work for me while I lay on the beach sipping margaritas, then should my employees make more than me?

Should the ditch digger make more than the foreman?

You should make as much money as you can as a matter of principle. What other people make relative to you is for the most part, irrelevant.

I agree with this to an extent. Thats the thing, I'm not willing to do what I do at an employee rate. This is performance based so I would have to pay to get it ranking up front and I know I could make more if I seek out a web designer and do it myself. This guy is playing the boss while trying to play me as an employee and I'm not gonna do it.

I posted this to gain some insight and see if anyone here had ever done a performance type partner deal like this, and see if I could find some new strategies etc.

I thank kiopa matt for posting this
Your standard rate + performance bonuses + revshare % every month.
As I think I will try this out with this deal and see if it goes anywhere.

Thanks to kioppa matt and others that posted helpful stuff. I dont think I'll get anymore out of this thread but if anyone wants to keep discussing go ahead or pm me. I already cancelled the current deal and he is offering me to come up with something else. Maybe I can make it work. We'll see.

I dont give up on anything that has money coming my way until they say no fuckin way. Counter his offer.

Dude if you know you can rank it....

Why the hell would you work for him.

You make 300$ per website client with him, if you're doing it for yourself you're gonna earn a lot more per web design client(as long as you're not one of those idiots charging 500$ for a shitty web design). Do it yourself and instead of 300$ per closed client, you'd be making 5-6 times that easily.

I agree but I dont have anywhere where I feel confident outsourcing the web design. If I had a partner that would go 50/50 or even 60/40 or something like that and build a good website I would do it...but I dont got that and I make good money already with SEO...so I dont even want to deal with building websites, if I'm going to get in on web design I'd want someone else to do it, i.e. answer the call/ call the prospect back, close the deal, build the website etc. and make a nice chunk of change while I get a nice portion of the money for doing the SEO part of it. Get me?

yeah man I'm planning on it...using Kioppa's template there, what would you do it for? Throw some numbers at me...or should I just make up my prices as I see fit?
