I know there have been posts on where people are located, but where do you go (realistically) if you could relocate today? The better half would rather stay in the states, but gave the go ahead to get the hell out of the USA for a couple years.

We are looking at Vancouver, Costa Rica, Roatan, Buenos Aires and Barcelona. I'd be down for Tokyo, but she thinks adapting there would be above and beyond, so I let it go. If we stay domestic, we're thinking Denver, Portland and a shot in the dark....Albuquerque. For some reason we both dig New Mexico, but only Santa Fe, and the demographic there is just a tad too old for us at this time.

Any thoughts from the people who live in any of the locations above? :bigear:

Vancouver BC is an awesome place to live. Always fun shit to do and people are generally very friendly. Just gotta ignore all the bums.

I hear Costa Rica is nice. I also hear if you drop $500k in a bank down there and form a "residence" you can get instant citizenship. Don't know if its true, never verified it.

Vancouver just rocks, love that place. If I was the Mormons I would have called BC "Zion" instead of that shit hole in Utah.

Japan isn't bad, most people I ran into could read and write english even if they couldn't speak it very well. I just carried a notepad around and wrote down my questions, and let them write down the answers.

Portland is an awesome city, but if you're moving there during winter time be ready for lots of clouds and rain!

As far as international goes, I had some friends who spent 2 weeks in Barcelona on their honeymoon and they are dead set on moving there now. Costa Rica would probably be wonderful as well, but I've only known people to go there for activist roles.

Where do you live now? Chicago?

Last I heard the governor was a Republican, or was he "terminated"?

Pfft - He may have labeled himself as a Republican but he's no conservative. Remember he still has roots in liberal Hollywood politics (save the whales/greenhouse effect/ eat vegan) and he's married to a Kennedy. He's nothing but a lapdog of Pelosi/Boxer/Feinstein. Calling himself a Republican was only to win the votes during the Recall Election.

MEXICO

They just legalized personal drug use.

"The maximum amount of marijuana for "personal use" under the new law is 5 grams—the equivalent of about four joints. The limit is a half gram for cocaine, the equivalent of about 4 "lines." For other drugs, the limits are 50 milligrams of heroin, 40 milligrams for methamphetamine and 0.015 milligrams for LSD."

I'm thinking $$$ near the spring break resort towns. AM during the day, chill at the "coffee shop" at night. :rasta:

I'm actually in similar shoes, but in Toronto. I'm looking at Panama, Brazil, Costa Rica and a few others so far. T minus 6 months or so. Van city IS nice, if you still want that city feel with a lot of trees and mountains close enough to snowboard year round... I'm going for 'living on beachfronts with an ocean as my backyard' as my destination for a few years at least, who knows maybe I'll grow to hate it and come running back to the city quick but I doubt it.

Also might want to check this out if you plan on diversifying where your moniez is going and how to save more of it from Mr.T if you're a traveling big earner...

If you have the time and money bro - do something drastic I say, the city life isn't going anywhere...

This just means that the drug gangs will make up for lost revenue by kidnapping people like you.
