Now that I have been reading and gaining a rudimentary understanding of SEO black hat, I cooked up an idea that may be original. You tell me.

At first, I dreamed up the unoriginal concept of putting hidden html code onto a page, thereby giving the search engines some link bait. Reading further, I learned this is considered spam, and a no-no. Scratch that.

Thinking it over a bit, I figured out how you can do this legally: put the code visibly on the page, but make it very tiny, match the back ground color and shove it into a lonely edge on your site. Nobody's gonna click that or see it, and you have given yourself a referral link that is technically kosher with the search engines.

What thinks you?

Are you on drugs?

Did you actully look at bluehatseo at all.

No, I'm learning it, and don't know the drill.

See, this is why I like Wicked Fire. It's the only site I know of where the trolls are the valued members, and the polite posters are the ones who get flamed. Cheers!

I'll be nice. That doesn't work - google can detect text on the same color background - they can also detect hidden css styles.

I heard that if you use these things called "doorway pages" and stuff them with keywords, you'll get #1 rank in all the best search engines like Altavista & Hotbot.

Is that true?

wow, this site is just full of fucking gutless pricks isn't it.

A newbie posts a newbie question in the newbie forum and 3/4 of you abuse him because he doesn't know the answer.

Listen, the info you want isn't going to magically show up on Google's front page. You're gonna have to dig deep... 10, maybe even 20 pages back, to get real info.
Black hatters like to keep the methods that truly work close to their chests.
That said, stick around here. There are a few people here that come up with some very cool shit, and more often than not, they post parts of it around here.
Failing that, there's always BlackHatSEO forum.

Ikonic: Go drink a Coopers and take a chill pill. WF is all about trial-by-fire. The people that can take this crap are the people that have enough perserverence to actually make it in this industry.
Most of these gutless pricks actually know what they're talking about, come up with amazing methods and techniques, and most of all, give it all away for free.
If they want to have a laugh at people that can't even do basic research on their own, then let them. The people that are committed will see how naive they've been, have a chuckle at themselves for being so naive, and catch up to speed quickly enough.

I'm not even sure if that would even qualify as "black hat" anymore. Most search engines will catch that with just a basic check. If you want to get some action in your Hitbox report, you will need to come up with something better, like getting listed in dmoz.

Seriously, though, if you want to go that route, read up on spinners and cloaking. I know all that stuff is so April 2007, but it will at least get you on the path to the dark side.

And you can't forget SlightlyShadySEO. It has a lot of black hat seo info written just for newbies like the OP so that he can get started.
