Really good book IMO, so thought I'd share. Kind of goes into the general pussification of most men in US, being whipped by your wife/girlfriend/spouse, etc. I can't really do it justice though, I'd recommended reading it.

Originally published as an e-book that became a controversial media phenomenon, No More Mr. Nice Guy! landed its author, a certified marriage and family therapist, on The O'Reilly Factor and the Rush Limbaugh radio show. Dr. Robert Glover has dubbed the "Nice Guy Syndrome" trying too hard to please others while neglecting one's own needs, thus causing unhappiness and resentfulness. It's no wonder that unfulfilled Nice Guys lash out in frustration at their loved ones, claims Dr. Glover. He explains how they can stop seeking approval and start getting what they want in life, by presenting the information and tools to help them ensure their needs are met, to express their emotions, to have a satisfying sex life, to embrace their masculinity and form meaningful relationships with other men, and to live up to their creative potential.

So...so...how does this affect me, as a gay webmaster?

Our society is so fucked up that men need to be reminded they are men

Basically. Covers a bunch of why/how that happened, puts it in better perspective. The interesting part to me is a lot of guys who think they are being men are actually whipped and have no clue, hard to elaborate out of context but that's a big part of the book IMO.

Haven't read this but I have heard about the book. Might read it later. Agree on Western society creating a lot of pussified men. Toronto especially has it bad, sitting on a subway ride I see so many dudes with that soft look in their eyes.

I used to be like that but I made a ton of progress away from that. Lots of hard work involved but I'm 50 times happier now.

I swear there is an audiobook version of this floating around the interwebz for free, because I listened to it and I don't pay for shit...

Can't seem to find it at the moment.

It is a pretty good book, but if you have done any reading on "masculinity" type stuff (Way Of The Superior Man, Jack Donovan, Iron John, Warrior King Magician Lover, etc) then there will be a lot of repetition.

I would still recommend it, though.

we are just a product of our environment. our society shapes our environment. those men aren't fucked up, our society is.

Yeah, a big part of the problem is that guys here in the U.S. (and maybe in other countries too) are being indoctrinated by the media to adopt to a society in which femenism is to be respected. Women are allowed to show power over men and are encouraged to do so.

It's fucking sickening really but I see it going on every day.

I never fails someone always makes a comment like this.

How about treating women as equals to men? Granted some things men or women can do a bit better but feminism is actually about equality even though there are some bad apples in the movement...like any other movement or group.

So relax, stop pretending that the world is your enemy.

Most men, NOT ALL, give away MOST of the power to the women once they buy that DIAMOND ring.

After that, not sure what happens, most women become like the characters in the X-MEN movie, they develop powers and shit.
