Not an AffManager no more

HarveyJ

He is - THE CACTUS!
At least not for Affiliation Cash.
We got some new owners in, they were dicks, I left.

I can live comfortably off what I earn online, although not lavishly... but I'm going to use this as an opportunity to seriously get into events management.
Looking at the numbers from what I've been doing so far, I can earn more money with less work in that field than I do in AM (yeah, I realise this means I must be terrible at AM if I can only earn about $20-$30k a year from it).

But the whole point of this thread is that I seriously want to thank a lot of you guys here because the shit I learnt for marketing, I'm going to use for events.
Those of you who have my gratitude probably know who you are.

If I get into any sort of events that the public are invited to, I'll be sure to try and hook some of the other Aussies up with a pass if they're interested.

Ryan: Nah, I was earning that from my own campaigns. I ain't no supaballer, but I can live off it, so I'm doing fine in so far as I can see.
They were paying me ~$50k.

I'm thinking first up, some sort of conference/convention for Twihards. With the amount of money that goes through anime cons, and no one doing shit for suckers who are into vampires, I figure it's a sparkly sparkly diamond mine.

You're a good bloke, Harvey. You'll be better than fine.

Let me know if I can help in any way.

Good for you man, things happen for a reason. And with your expertise and full time availability, I'm sure you'll be crushing it in 2010.

you were doing affiliate marketing on the side while being an affiliate manager? sorry if im wrong but if im correct isn't that kinda iffy?

I wouldn't want my AM doing affiliate marketing because hell he has access to a lot of data. Im sure it happens but don't companies have contracts that say you can't do affiliate marketing while your an AM? or at least not with the company you work for?

I dunno your not an AM anymore so more power to ya in the affiliate marketing game but the point im trying to make i guess is if i found out my AM was doing shit on the side I probably wouldn't be to happy knowing he can view all my sites.
