Obama is going to fuck up the internet



If it goes as well as the health care thing this may affect is in 30 years.
 
The government was, from what I remember, roll out a US wide fiber-optics network that would pretty much put all other service providers out of business. Which would have been completely controlled by the government, I wonder whatever happened to that?

At least Google has some responsibility to its customers. The government has no accountability since it will be the same regardless of which political party is in power.
 
That whole article makes me sick. "Global governance", "network neutrality", etc... I don't want Obama's filthy hands anywhere near ICANN.

If you have a hot minute, read these excellent 3 blog posts on how content providers and ISPs got a $200bn tax break to build this network for the government (read: for us, the people), and then, of course, took the money and ran.
