Obama without Teleprompter

If it was PBS I don't have to watch that to know they were soft on him or he was very well rehearsed. I'd love to see a Limbaugh/Obama debate. It'd go PayPerView and I would gladly grab a bucket of popcorn and make a night of it. Unfortunately that won't happen since Obama turned him down (wisely).

i would like to see that as well, just to see President Obama wipe the floor with Rush's fat, buttery, pill addict, back.

How about you fucking retards watch the interview he did with Jim Lehrer last week.

Online NewsHour | PBS

There is no teleprompter, and he is asked honest tough questions to which he gives thoughtful and intelligent answers.

I don't care if you don't like his policies or if you don't agree with his platform. Arguing that this man can't think on his feet or can't communicate is bullshit.

That interview is 18 minutes, its worth your time to actually watch it.

To LotsOfZeros's point (far above in the thread), most media interviews with the President are only granted with advance notice of acceptable questions and direction.

I think the jury is still out regarding whether Obama can think on his feet. Frankly, we don't have enough data. I certainly don't know anyone who has observed multiple speeches given by Obama without prompts.

I remember the Saddleback interview between Obama and Rick Warren. A lot of pundits claimed Obama's answers were circular and undefined compared to those given by McCain. The response from Obama's people was, "McCain probably heard the questions before his interview."

Perhaps. But, it suggests a need on Obama's part for prompts. The examples given in the Politico article by people trailing the stump seem to support that suggestion.

If you have principles, it is relatively easy to articulate a position on various common political issues. Ron Paul is not a very articulate speaker, even though he has gotten much better in the last year, but because he has a set of principles to work from, he doesn't have to avoid making concise statements.

And I know, Ron Paul would never be elected. I get that. But shouldn't the standard for clarity and honesty be higher the greater the office?

Funny. I was just telling my lady the other night that I wished everyone was as direct as Ron Paul. I've read a few of his articles on CNN. There's a real clarity there and he's consistent every time.

As for never getting elected... yeah. *sigh*

How DARE all of you attack our beloved President of the United States of America! You should all be ashamed of yourselves! This hero is our way out of this mess and HE should be crowned as king...

oh wait, he's just another gutless front man for the banks? NM, carry on.
