ice in whisky.
ballers gonna ball.
Nothing wrong with an ice cube or two (or a splash of water) in a nice glass of whiskey or scotch. All ballers should know that it helps to open up the flavors of the drink. Just sayin.

Yeah, don't know about that bro, I don't think any whisky maker would agree. If you want full flavor then whisky should be drunk neat with no water, no ice cube, no cold at all. But americans do have a tradition for drinking with ice and that is perfectly fine, but the ice actually subdues the flavor, it doesn't bring it out.
Don't shoot the messenger, but there should be no ice or water in whisky if you want the full taste and flavor. Of course, if you're drinking cheap whisky then you might not want the full flavor.
edit: I'm drunk on cheap wine btw atm.
Obviously it's all personal taste. Nothing wrong with drinking it neat. Adding 10 ice cubes to a class of good whiskey probably isn't going to give you the full experience of the drink, but to each his own. I like most scotch's neat, while most whisky's I'll add one cube or just a quick splash of water. I'm not talking a whiskey & water here, just a quick blast of water. I think it helps the flavor in most cases.
Here's a good article on the subject. The proper way to drink fine whiskey: an anorak reality check | Whisky Advocate Blog
fuck Canadian whisky.
where is all my bourbon lovers at? im in the middle of bourbon country myself
You can drink whisky with water, ice or soft drinks, but if you want the full flavor and all nuances of the whisky then it should be neat. Try it yourself with a good bottle. It is a real shame to waste good whisky with ice, water or soda. You don't put ketchup on a kobe steak either. Of course, if drinking socially in a bar or something, then neat might not be what you're after, but still, for the full flavor then neat.
I'm not trying to be a wiseass here, because I used to drink with ice or water too, but then when I tried neat, I discovered that you really get a lot more taste and it is a totally different experience and much richer taste.
So here's a question for all. What's the absolute best whiskey you've ever had the pleasure of drinking?
For me it was one glass of Louis XIII. My friends grandfather passed away and left him an unopened bottle from 40 years ago. That's one good cognac.

I mostly stick to Johnny Walker Black Label, Gold Label, and johnny walker Explorers Edition which isn't sold in the states right now, mostly duty free shops..
Good old Johnny Black, it's very popular here in Thailand. It's like a pecking order in clubs what whisky you drink cause everyone drinks whisky mix and no one drinks beer. So 10 Pipers (or somethng like that) for the peasents, Johnny Red for middle class and Black for ballers and prostitutes
