One fine whisky

Awesome:

- Oban
- Macallan
- Talisker

The bad boy - BALVENIE - the 12 YO!

Nice to see it posted earlier on here. Really nothing ultra expensive or rare, but you know a special bar when you see it being served and it's delicious. Finished off in a sherry cask for a little extra flavour - and you can actually taste it. EDIT: It sells for $80 in the US? Damn, that is a lot more then I pay for it.

Never really been a major fan of JW black, but everyone seems to drink it. Blue label, yeah it's smooth but definitely way more expensive then it should be (personally). It's still blended and has no age associated with it for that very reason. Not that age is everything... I'd drink it but really overpriced, I reckon.

I personally drink whiskey with a little water/single huge 2 inch ice cube, to open it up, but if you like it cold and straight, use some whiskey pebbles to cool it down.

I actually have some 34YO Glenlivet (ultra rare and $$ too) that I was given, but waiting for a day to open it...

This is my fav regular drink. Price has gone up on it recently. From $57 a few years ago to $82 on sale this weekend.

This guy doesn't know shit about posting images in a forum without breaking it's layout, but he sure knows a good whiskey when he sees one.

It doesn't break anything for me, you need a bigger screen.

I second that Popcorn Sutton was the man. In fact, I was so fascinated by his marketing potential in the spirits industry, I considered reaching out and buying the rights to use his likeness (no doubt, another has already done so through his next of kin now for pennies on the dollar). A brand of lick-er bearing his likeness would be a smash hit with college kids in the South. You could really have fun with a brand like that.

I don't drink alcohol . . . so this may be a bit off base....but if the stuff is so good, why dilute it with all that ice?

I do drink a fair amount of soda, the "premium" stuff, and ice is a big "no", as it dilutes the product. If you want a cold drink, you refrigerate it, or even freezer for a short period of time...but no ice.

That ice is bone white which means a shit ton of crap in his water. Bro u need a reverse osmosis system.

Love it or hate it, great Islay and not overpriced. If you don't like peat, stay away and don't even touch it with a stick!

Soda is already mostly water. Whiskey is around 40% alcohol. Unless someone is a member of 1989 Guns N' Roses or something, they aren't going to down 12 ounces of whiskey in a half hour. Many people prefer straight shots, but others would rather dilute it and stretch out the experience.

I can understand the straight shots...diluting it I just don't get. Why would you want to dilute the flavors that they have supposedly worked on so long to get just right? Unless it's made with dilution in mind?

Good old Johnny Black, it's very popular here in Thailand. It's like a pecking order in clubs what whisky you drink cause everyone drinks whisky mix and no one drinks beer. So 10 Pipers (or somethng like that) for the peasents, Johnny Red for middle class and Black for ballers and prostitutes

Funny you mention this, I went to Canada for vacation, went over all of my relatives house, all they had was Red Label, I was like fuck this, I went to a liquor store, saw the price, then I realized how good I have it in the States

That's the Canadian price. Not sure what it goes for in America.

Ice is generally a no, but apparently a few drops of water help bring the flavor out.
