Online business ideas for the taking

I had a potential client have me sign a NDA for this..... but I'm going to share the idea anyway. I'll probably get in trouble for this...... but here goes.

What he wanted to do was have this website that works sort of like the bookmarks in your browser, but have it be on-line so you can share it with others.

Awesome idea - one of you should run with it since my quote of 500 dollars was out of his budget.

Holy shit, that could turn into one of the biggest phenomenons the web has ever seen.

Dear Wicked Fire,

I wanted to thank you guys for creating this dating site. I was lonely, rich and bored scientist who had nothing but my degrees, Nobel Peace prizes and the piles of money that came with it.

I have finally found a woman who shares my interests in reading, music and life.

We have only been seeing each other for a few weeks but have decided to get hitched.

Cheers to a long lasting marriage and life.

p.s. here is her picture

This isn't my idea, it was originally posted by someone on here and I thought it was pretty good.

Buy a few 'kiosks', essentially just a PC with the keyboard fitted into some sort of exterior. Something like this

KIOSK.jpg

See if you can make an agreement with Cash4Gold/Pawn Shops/scummy sort of places to allow you to place the kiosk in their shop for a monthly fee or a % of earnings. Have the screen display only a payday loan offer with your aff ID and have a sign basically saying "Payday Loans, instant decision" or something like that. People would be far more likely to trust something like this in a shop than going to a random webpage.

until someone who signs up for one comes back and destroys it with a sledgehammer.

Jcash your negativity pisses me off so much, you have no idea. So SEO is dead, all biz ideas are shit... Seriously who dafuq are you?

To you everyone is a peasant and everything is shit. What are you doing on Wickedfire? Seriously? Bashing on people for the fun of it? Is it even fun?

So tired of your crap...

Automated/Self-Serve Reputation Management for people who don't like their face showing up on those mugshot type sites. Many of them are paying $300 or more to the site (or a thinly veiled partner) to have the photo removed.

There's room in there for someone who would charge a lower price not to remove it, but to flood the SERPS for "John Paul Dingbat" enough to push the mugshot sites off the first page.

EDIT: And, this crowd is desperate enough to fill out a questionnaire after the purchase that serves as the unique content.

Could be an interesting automated side business for someone that already sells automated wiki posts, web 2.0 posts, etc.

Use your magical xpath powers to summon rainbows and unicorns to protect you from reality!

I actually have an idea that would probably bring in a ton of bank. I'm just trying to gather up the collateral to pay the programmer to make it (especially since I owe the IRS some). But I'm guessing it will be started sometime in May. :)

What is the difference between gambling and a legal sweepstakes?

1- That the sweepstakes is based on an existing product or service. So you can't start a sweepstakes based on people buying a ticket to the sweepstakes, but you can do it based on buying a product or service.

2- That the prize is based on pre-defined events, not at random. So you can have a prize where the winner is client #87493, or who made purchase #87586 or who had a tag in his product. But it can't be something dice, or spinning a roulette wheel.

So set up a gambling house that where there isn't any gambling, but instead, people pay for an 'internet cafe'. Then, they can do anything on the computers, including play 'casino type games'. Make it so that you give 'prizes' from a 'sweepstake' to certain clients at pre-defined times. So for example, Machine #654 will go off with a '$500 sweepstake prize' @ 3:15pm.

Make it clear to clients how it works, and that it is NOT gambling, but rather a sweepstake. Then offer free food and drinks, and target the elderly who need socialization. Even offer transportation to and from the old folks home to your business for free. You'll have hundreds of regulars. If you can make $5-10/hour/machine, you could scale it like crazy and get $$$. Then spend half of it on lobbying to make sure the AGs don't fuck with you.

Here's one: a mobile app based service where people who don't have cars pay say $.35 a mile to get a ride with nearby people in cars going near their destination and people with cars get paid say $.25 a mile to drive those people. Sort of a peer-to-peer hitchhiking service with a standard rate without the "ass" or "grass" options. A good name for it would be peerrides.com. Oh look the domain is available!

How about a service that predicts if people shit in one bucket and put their profitable business ideas in the other which one fills up first?

We get it, this thread doesn't appeal to you. That's fine, you don't have to keep posting in it...

A thread like this is great for brainstorming, and it doesn't matter how good each individual idea is, they're good food for thought.

Niche specific local job boards are hot and you can build communities around them. I have a family member who requires advanced care, and hiring trained homecare workers isn't easy because there isn't a central place for them to look for work or people to post jobs.

This could be applicable to literally thousands of industries.

Help people find what they are looking for (help workers find work, help employers find employees).

lol the funny thing is, if that service worked it would become TOO popular in most areas of the US, so many people don't have adequate transportation it is almost horrific. especially younger kids, most midwestern rural areas etc.

Even funnier is that in the face of a service like this blowing up in popularity, many Americans will still proudly claim that we don't need better infrastructure and national high speed rail, etc.

I feel bad for a few generations from now, we're basically becoming Canada's mexico lmao, often with the delusions of desperately trying to not become too much like Europe, etc. Europe and other countries our "patriots" often criticize surely do a lot of things wrong, but they do a lot of things much better than us too in my opinion...major one being transportation/infrastructure. lots of biz ideas could be based on future infrastructure goals too...
