Actually I appreciate the response in this thread. I have been a pc user for all of my life but the more I look at mac the more I want to make the switch. What is eating me up is that there are things I like about winblows and there are things I like about snowkitty. Which if you want the best of both worlds you will need to go mac with vmware to run windows.
From my point of view the things I really like with mac is the displays and the magic mouse. For anyone that does web work having a display that will show webpages beyond the typical fold and allow for dual applications to open side by side is a productive environment. Slap a laptop into it and you basically have 3 viewing areas that require no neck turning. If you have not used the magic mouse you gotta give it a try. Very impressive.
At this time I feel I could be more productive and remove any limitations by brand if I had a mac running windows through vmware. From my understanding once windows is install on vmware I can open windows programs on the mac desktop without opening windows os.
