Peter Schiff at the DNC - Let's Ban Profits!

This speech should be played at both conventions and on every TV channel...

The Newsroom: "America Isn't The Best" Speech - YouTube

Helluva show btw ... they just finished the first (short ass) season.

I think I'm in love with mackenzie, which is weird because I know she isn't a real person. That's when I decided to order a blow up doll ... who also isn't a real person. Problem solved.

The speech was great, but the rest of the show is just like a never ending MSNBC reality show. It really pushes the limit on how much one sided, biased bullshit one can propagate through a conventional TV series.

No clue what you're babbling about. Sure, the cameras roll outside the newsroom too, but it's not that distracting.. I'd be interested to hear which side you think it's pushing? While it's not the middle (or even tolerable) for me, it pretty close to is for MSM.

M'eh, there isn't a single person at either convention that wouldn't say that they agree 100% of that speech without the slightest bit of introspection. And then they would immediately tell you that it's the people over in the opposite convention are 100% of the problem. Jeff Daniels riffs on our literacy rank: Repubs can think it's a reference to uneducated illegals and affirmative action, Dems can think it's a reference to gutted school funding, etc.. That's Sorkin's gift, he can crap out schlock monologues that take 20 minutes to recite but say nothing and still make everybody think "wow, he really gets me". Dude probably got laid a lot in college.

Each and every single episode had a single sided perspective on events. The idea of painting the GOP as the party of the crazy extremists seems the running theme of the show. A lot of time is spent on discussing snippets taken out of context painting GOP officials in a bad light, while I couldn't spot a single moment of criticism on the current administration or its officials in the whole series.

Just look at the more recent debate episodes or even the last one on voter ID. They focus intensely on even such minor points of political maneuvering in order to get their message across: the GOP is full of crooks. What they are indeed crafting masterfully is the packaging part - they are showing that propagating a political agenda can be wrapped in a much more sophisticated context than the typical political shouting matches on TV. Instead "Newsroom" is able to hide its agenda behind claiming moral superiority and portraying themselves as the unbiased voice of reason enlightened to decide whats right and whats wrong.

You know, I couldn't have pulled this task off. Schiff did a phenomenal job here keeping a straight face, and not following through with any kind of argument... He was a true thespian in this vid, with dedication to rival any oscar-award winning performance.

You can just replace "voters" with "people". People are generally stupid. Much like with wealth, only a tiny number of people hold the majority of the world's intelligence too.

Yea, but I have more contempt for voters than I do regular people, so that's why I use the word that way.

I dunno about you, but the "voters" I know are fucking retards. I'm sure there are plenty of decent and intelligent people out there who vote...I just dunno any myself.

Intelligent people voting. That's an oxymoron if I ever heard one. Blue red, green or yellow, voting for any party or candidate has become nothing more then an attempt at voting for the guy you hope will rob you, screw you and otherwise try and trip you over at your every step just a little less then the other patsy.

Smart people vote for themselves. They build businesses, they leverage international opportunities, they don't wrap themselves in a flag of party, country and candidate like a bunch of herd animals following the lead. Voting for Romney is almost like voting for Obama and voting for Obama is almost like voting for Romney. They just talk a different game but legislate the same.

Aside from whether voting matters, whether intelligent people do it, or the lack of options presented to them...

One day, it will be time to talk about the morality of voting.

I like how the video starts off with Van Jones, kind of sets the theme.

The second bitch in the video (young one), is extremely stupid. Wow, I didn't know you can be this stupid about economics and be so involved in government.
