PEYTON MANNING M.V.P

As a long time colts fan, this is very disappointing. The colts are nothing without Manning, that was made very obvious from last season. I think every colts fan wants to see him retire as a colt, and it should be when he's ready. With all the rebuilding Indianapolis has been doing this off season, its obvious they are forcing him out.

Irsay has been claiming for months that it's strictly a medical matter, and they will only keep him if he's healthy. That's understandable, but considering the fact that Manning was recently cleared by his doctors to play this season, it was obviously just an excuse so he doesn't look like the bad guy when he lets peyton go.

Thats a really shitty way to treat the person who has carried this team for 13 seasons. He could easily play another 3 or 4 years before retiring. Honestly, I hope the colts get destroyed by whatever team Manning plays for next season. And I really hope he gets another superbowl ring or two before he retires.

FUCK YOU JIM IRSAY :boid:....(unless of course you change your mind tomorrow and decide to keep him, but I doubt it.)

Depends, so much spin around what he allegedly can and can't do. If he really has lost his trowing ability like some reports sound like he has, he should retire. Something tells me it must be true, otherwise the Colts would try to keep him around another year or two to groom Luck. Maybe not pay him the 28 mil, but I would think there would be more news about the Colts trying to renegotiate his contract.

On the other hand, they got rid of a lot of people well before the decision and the writing was on the wall that they where cleaning house.

No matter what, I would be surprised if some team didn't take a flyer on him. Think low money guaranteed 1 year contract. If not for anything more than a PR move, or more likely to groom their own QB of the future. I don't see him being a "backup" out of the gate.

If you look at the amount of teams that need a QB, even one that might not work out, you have: Minnesota (ok maybe a stretch they just got Ponder), Cleveland, Washington, Jacksonville, Miami, Seattle, Arizona (probably not they spent way too much on Kolb), New York Jets, Oakland, Denver, Dallas, San Fran (ok another stretch considering how well Alex Smith did last year), and the Bears (Cutler and the Bears still suck). The possibility is high.

How the hell are you going to get rid of manning if you are the colts. Who could you possibly get to replace someone like Peyton. It's madness.

Of course someone is going to sign him, he's peyton manning. He won't be a backup at all. We don't know what the real deal is with him because the reports have been mixed since day one, but the video of him at Duke looked pretty good. He will get a contract around 3 years at $45mil with about 30mil or so guaranteed. Depending on who signs him, the smart thing would be to sign a QB within the first 2 rounds. The strategy of drafting a QB in the 4th or 5th round rarely works to be the future.

Even though he is able to sign with another team as soon as he is released, he will take his time I bet. So many teams he will have to consider and it will be more of him interviewing the team instead the team interviewing him.

I personally believe it comes down to Arizona and Miami. They both have solid defenses and they both have an ideal #1 receiver. I think Arizona will be his landing spot though just because he has more of a connection to Whiz then anyone in Miami.

Andrew Luck is suppose to be the next best QB that has come out of college since Manning/Elway.

There's no way he'll retire, he'll play until he absolutely can't. It's sad to see him leave the Colts though, if that's what they decide to let him do.

I'm not a Vols fan but UT fans could use some relief at the head coaching position in Knoxville. Seeing Manning return to his alma mater to take the next step as a CFB head coach would be interesting.

Stick to incest you inbred pack fan

1. Reports of Manning throwing hard came out a couple days ago. You are refering to reports from January.

2. Dallas and Chicago are just fine at QB. Romo has a career QB rating of 96.9 (2nd of ALL-Time) I bet you didn't know that chump. You probably get all your info from your other 3rd grade educated fans up there in hillbilly land.

Cutler has not had one good Receiver in Chicago. But strap your seatbelt, cause Vincent Jackson WILL be a bear. He is going to be a 6 Foot 5 nightmare for you and your inbred fanbase.

I think it's going to come down to Miami or Seattle.

As for Miami, along with a great #1 receiver in Brandon Marshall, Peyton also has a home in Florida which makes that an attractive destination.

However...

Seattle is the next best fit for him because they also have a good #1 receiver in Sydney Rice along with a much better running game with Lynch and a Pro Bowl tight end in Zach Miller. Their offense is simply better than Miami's in general, including their O-Line which has to keep Peyton upright all year.

I think Peyton would probably prefer Miami but there's the whole thing with Matt Flynn. If Miami likes him that much, and their new head coach, Joe Philbin, who coached Flynn in college believes in him, then they might go with him for the future instead of trying to win now with Peyton. And seeing that they have a few holes to fill (like getting more weapons on offense), signing Flynn instead might make more sense.

I really hope that Seattle lands him because he is really all they need to be a major contender next year.

I don't think Manning will go to Seattle because for some odd reason, I think they really like Tavaris Jackson lol. Also Rice gets injured too much now a days. And I have no clue why they signed Zach Miller last year because they used him more of a blocking TE then what he specializes in, a receiving TE.

I'm a Dolphins fan and I wouldn't mind seeing him here but I don't think it would help the franchise for the future. Philbin wants to control his offense, he would have to basically let Peyton run it. I think as a new coach you let him do his thing. He also didn't coach Flynn in college, just on the packers. I wouldn't mind if they got Flynn because they have the staff that worked with Flynn, unlike the Cardinals when they got Kolb. Having Peyton here would make Hartline look so much better.

I really think the Cardinals are the best fit. Coaching connection, #1 receiver, good 1-2 running game, defense is solid, and inside stadium. Draft Fleener or Charles because Peyton loves his TE game.
