Peyton Manning - Free Agent

From the way he was talking today, sounds like he wants to play another 2-3 years. I don't think he can sign with anyone until March 13.

I keep thinking about Joe Montana switching to a different conference (he had requested to get traded to the Chiefs), probably to keep from playing against his old team so much. Otherwise, Miami would be a good fit for Peyton.

Bringing his old receivers over would be a plus, but I don't think it's gonna make the deal. A big part of what makes him good is that he spends a lot of time with and studies whoever he's going to be working with.

I think he'd have a great time playing for the Seahawks. And the Colts this year will be a rough transition for Luck.

i knew they wasn't going to keep him (28M plus what they got to pay luck), i figured he was staying on as a QB coach.

lil bro has more rings than you, peyton. you were a machine when you played though. you, edge, marvin, and wayne.

edge retired.
marvin putting fools to sleep
wayne is going wherever you land

sit your ass down before some MLB knocks your head off.

ITT Bears fan gets but hurt.

Just admit the truth, Cutler is a bitch! Worst, trade, ever.

What I do know is what I saw out of him last year, and it wasn't good.

Nope. didnt see anyone get butt hurt. Show me where. I think I turned "erect" into "limp" He's cool with that though. He appears to like Ron Paul, so he's cool in my book.

On To Cutler,
Bears were 7-2 last year with him. Not sure what you are watching. You just hate Cutler, I get it. But take the hater glasses off.
If you claimed he sucked in 2009, then Id let you win the debate. Hard to defend that many picks he threw in 1 year. fact is, bears are 18-8 in his last 26 starts. That comes out to a 69 Winning %, which is better than an 11-5 record through the course of the year. When Cutler gets Vincent Jackson, expect 12-4, 13-3. Laugh now. But Cutler was slinging it to Hester and Knox. One Kick Returner and a 5th round pick. Midgets. Have Erin Rodgers try throwing to small targets with these monster cornerbacks out there like Revis,Any Philly Corner, Carr or J.Joseph.

Edit: BY the way Rage... you just getting up? Get some sun bro. Thats probably why you're always Mad. (That and having to sleep with family to breed)

The Seahawks do need to pick him up and then draft a QB or stick with Josh Portis and have Manning mentor him. They have the cap room, and improving D and could afford to bring players over.

Cardinals = NO as in they are stuck in a big contract with Kolb.

Denver = A possibility. The only way to get the fans to not scream Tebow is Manning.

Dolphins = Most likely and it is the front runner.

Skins = Not a chance. I don't think they have enough talent.

so I guess I'll stop trolling bears fans with obvious truths and join the conversation.

Without a doubt, Titans

Plenty of cap money, decent OL, fanfuckingtasticWRs, CJ2k & a pretty decent defense. No jeff fisher but neyland stadium is only a few hours away. If he wants money and a chance to win, they're a perfect fit and tickets would sell like mad.

And for the record: I like cutler, he looks perma-stoned. It's a shame he's going to have to relocate to do anything worthwhile with his career.

I think they are too high on Jake Locker. Don't see it happening. I know many in Tennessee would love to see it, since Manning went to school there.

Its nice to see that Im not the only one who believes Football season started Monday

Manning has a huge upperhand, as he's high in demand.
On the other hand, does anyone else agree that he may not be as good in another offense...especially after his injury + not starting last season.

No way he goes to the Titans. Locker is no Gabbert, he actually is a decent QB. They will still keep Hasselbeck to compete with Locker because he actually didn't do horrible last season, surprisingly. The WR's are alright. Kenny Brit needs to stay out of trouble, he will grow up one day.

He's allowed to sign with any team soon as they officially cut him which was earlier today. But he won't sign anytime soon, maybe another week or two. But there is a bunch of great FA's and I'm excited to see where everyone goes.

Oh boy they won a few more games, I'm not sure if it was because of him though. But you want to fight stats:

CMP% 58, the lowest of his career
AVG yards per play 7.39, not the worst not the best
AVG of TD/s per game 1.3 which was worse than the season before
Better on INT's than the year before
QB Rating 85.7 which was worse than what you could argue was a shitty year the year before.

Hardly looks like the numbers of a guy who was that much if at all better then the year before. It's good though, the longer they keep him the longer the Packers and Lions (yes I'm propping the Lions) will rule the division.

Would Manning to the Niners be a good fit? Speculation says they would crush the league.

So why is he all of a sudden so interested in SF? I thought he didn't wanna compete against his brother for the NFC Championship.

More leverage against other teams. We all hear from "reports" that he doesn't want to compete in the NFC, but I think he just doesn't want to be in the same division as Eli. This is interesting that the 49ers are taking forever in contract negotiations with Alex Smith and not really trying to get a deal done fast. They might think they have a solid chance to sign Manning.

Why not just feign more interest in Arizona and Miami who he already visited? I mean how many teams does he need interested to drive the price up...

It just makes sense that he signs with Denver. That way Denver can trade Tebow to Jacksonville to get more fans in the stands. Plain and simple. Seems too much like a perfect fit in that aspect.

Manning wants to join a team with the capability of winning a championship now. The 49ers have an incredible defense and a decent running game. If Manning joins the 49ers, he will make them a complete team with essentially no weaknesses.

The 49ers are more serious about keeping Manning away from a division opponent than they are having him play in SF. The stuff about the 49ers came out just a few hours before Arizona had to meet the deadline to sign Kolb or risk losing him.

Also, Alex Smith and Manning have the same agent, so he's trying to get them both paid.

He's supposedly working out with the Titans today; none of the coaches or executives really wanted to go after him at first; there are more pressing needs, and there are already 2 good QBs. But the owner did, so now we have choppers and shit flying around and news vans staked out at the airports and college campuses.

Seems like everyone's offering around the same deal, whoever gets him better hope they get lucky in the drafts for the next few years...

oh, and this bullshit:

”BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE CONCURRING, that this General Assembly wholeheartedly supports the Tennessee Titans signing Peyton Manning and urges Mr. Manning to remember his roots in the Volunteer State as he makes his decision about where to play football in 2012,”

True.
Miami is out though. The coach doesn't want any headache's so with marshall not there it's not happening. Arizona is pretty much out too by picking up Kolbs bonus. I would be some what mad if I was a titans fan. Yeah Locker could learn behind Manning but he needs to play his full year by himself. Plus the coaches/GM wanted to stick with what they have but the owner gets the last say.
