Do you mean we have to deposit 1k in order to utilize the new ads? or have spent over 1k in the past?

Just started with POF, and encountered an annoying snag.

My campaign is meant to have targeted ads to different states, but I was not able to have the same ads in the same campaign with a different target state.

The dropdown menu asked me for country, then state. Only three states appeared in the menu: Arkansas, Alaska and Illinois. I am creating new campaigns for each state to work around this.

Is this feature broken, or is it me?

I just checked my account. It's the latter. My friend who's only spent 900 doesn't have the option under "New Campaign" to create the new ads, but I do, and I don't have 1k deposited currently.

Not sure if it's been mentioned but being able to target by browser type/operating system or whatever would be nice since I get a ton of traffic from people on mobile devices and some landers don't support them too well.

There's targeting at the campaign level and targeting at the creative level. If your campaign level specifies only those 3 states then at the creative level, you'll only be given the option to target those 3 states.

Try opening up the targeting at the campaign level to allow for more options at the creative level. You'll need 1 creative without any targeting at the creative level to run correctly (called your "default creative").

So essentially, you can have 1 campaign targeting a general demographic and cater each creative to a specific audience within that general demographic (No need to create multiple campaigns).

Email me at ben@pof.com if you have any other questions!

I got the message at site about the single untargeted creative. Why is it necessary to do this in order for the creatives to run correctly? Don't want to go backwards and read this whole thread if this was answered (more doing here, less reading).

I did as I was told, and made the untargeted creative, ran 65 cents' worth of traffic to it and stopped it quickly. This was apparently satisfactory and the message went away. After a bit of experimentation, I have come to believe the only way to make POF profit is to run very narrow, targeted traffic.

Because the adserver would pick your campaign and find no creatives. It causes huge problems for us in terms of performance. Its much easier if you have a list of valid campaigns and than all you have to do is look up the proper creative to display.

I have a feature request, on the page where you view the creatives by details for a campaign I'd like to be able to sort the ads by CTR so I can choose which low-performing ones to deactivate.

Thanks for the premium advertising thing with more inventory, that is pretty cool.

We tried to sign up but the credit card had an error in the transaction process. Plus for some reason we only see the 15 cent min CPM ad buy and not the CPC model. We could use a partner to do this for us to target ethnic groups like India, Hispanic and Asian immigrants.

Make sure your bank allows international transactions as POF is in Canada.

My POF experience is off to a bizarre start. First my ads get disapproved for "No Zoosk ads allowed" even though I wasn't promoting Zoosk at all (nor another free dating service). Then I resubmit them, this time getting "ad copy does not correspond to content on landing page" or something like that. I do mention the name of the offer in my ad copy...and otherwise I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Anything I'm missing here?

At least props to POF for making it easy to resubmit ads.

We serve our ads based on CPM. Riley offered a good suggestion, please email me ben@pof.com if it still doesn't go through.

Thanks, looks like it was sorted already. You guys are pretty quick.

However, now I have another problem - my campaign-level age targeting with "between" value apparently keeps removing itself after clicking to update the targeting. Is this normal?

Good to hear! Missing geo-targeting info would have been my guess.

Hmm, shoot me over an email, I won't be able to help until you email me your account info so I can take a look.

Question.

Say I have 10 campaigns targeting the exact same demographics
and am getting X number of impressions per day.

If I have just one campaign targeting those demographics, will I be
getting X number of impressions too, or lesser?

(Assuming same bid, same frequency cap, same budgets, etc)

I ask, because I am spending approximately the same amount of money
for all my campaigns (same offer, same demo, just testing creatives)

They're all profitable, some more so, some less so.

I am concerned that turning off some creatives will lead to lesser impressions.

Common sense says the number of impressions should remain the same, but
I just wanted to ask if someone might know, as testing it myself requires pausing
of campaigns = losing profits while ads are paused, so I'm trying not to resort
to that.
