You really sound like you do not know shit about "PUA". I don't even like calling it that, it's really just self improvement. It's way more than just "banging girls", it's like martial arts, you can learn a lot more from it and benefit personally from it, but it can also be misused.

What I meant is that that "PUA" is not about deriving value from sleeping with tons of women. It's about developing yourself into a person that naturally attracts women with positive vibes, being yourself, becoming successful, deriving happiness from yourself etc blah blah I could go on and on. You know all the cliche self help shit.

Some people find different avenues to develop themselves. For me RSD and Julien have always been there with their stupid, funny, many times thought provoking videos and have lifted me up when I'm feeling depressed or down. They help people like Elliot Rodger become normal, happy and self reliant. So it really just rubs me the wrong way big time to see these cock blocking "PIV is rape" feminists blasting it. It's not for everybody, make fun of it if you want, but this shit they are spouting off about Julien being a "rape enabler" or whatever is bull shit.

I read the Neil Strauss book and really enjoyed it. Totally accept the notion that a lot of these men are just desperate for a partner, self-improvement etc. But in a way that’s what seems so insidious about it… Are you seriously telling me you can’t see anything wrong with that video (which is rapey as fuck) or the PUA scene generally?

The problem isn’t in giving socially inept men tools to get what they want from life, it’s the jaded, misogynistic world view that seems to accompany it. They are good marketers though will agree with that.

Also love the projection of blame onto extreme feminism for a ‘beta, pussified society’ – when the reality is extreme feminism exists for the same reason that PUA does – because it’s in fact a male dominated society. And YOU are the pussified beta.

Few thoughts: if you’re getting into PUA because you’re intelligent and reserved, yes being confident and sometimes persistent helps, but the reality is there is somebody for everyone. If you’re not naturally an extroverted person then don’t pretend to be, you’ll only attract the wrong person anyway.

Setting this PUA debate aside, I think we should fucking applaud these guys for pushing the envelope as marketers, not put them down because of a simple video that's meant to rile up your emotions (well, depending on who you are). Use this as a case study now that you have a clear, rational view of both sides and follow the shitstorm closely not for the stimulation aspect of seeing this or that happen but to see just how far you can get away with misinforming people based on their emotional triggers, mental laziness, high degrees of self involvement and overall ignorance.
 
PUA niche is legit. Unfortunately, I never had the patience or discipline to fully capitalize on its potential.

Some competition, but still a lot of room to innovate. A lot of marketers are scared to touch it because they're still in "student" mode themselves.

The funny thing about PUA is this: Most of the guys who attend seminars, buy hella products, and need "coaching" are really just addressing the symptoms of a greater disease.

A deep-seated need for female approval.

Most "game" is just an act to try to convince females they don't desperately need their approval.

Negs, displays of higher value, etc... All diversions from the real issue. Even coaches and gurus suffer from this affliction.

Mark Manson is probably the only motherfucker who actually had the balls (and insight) to address the real issue.

But he recently pivoted his brand and is off to bigger and better things (he saw the warning signs early on).
