I think it is the opposite. I think that there are probably a lot of feminine guys who have felt forced to act masculine and now society is more open minded so they are acting how they've always felt.

It seems like you've misinterpreted open mindedness as some weird elitist plot and you are using that to try to force everyone to be more masculine.

What does it matter to you whether a guy down the street (or on TV) acts masculine or feminine? If you're a masculine guy, that's great. If you're a feminine guy, that's great. So what is wrong with both feminine guys and masculine guys being prominent in culture? It's not like masculine guys have nobody to look up to (have you watched a football game recently?)

Kids of both genders have plenty of exposure to both masculine and feminine ideas and role models and can follow whatever they want, which sounds a lot better to me than forcing kids to all be close minded and homogeneous.

You misunderstand my point. I have no problem with naturally feminine guys being feminine. My problem is the systematic destruction of masculinity that forces men who would otherwise be masculine into being shamed for it and incentivized into being feminized. Along the same lines, I am not for forcing men who are naturally feminine into being masculine.

I disagree with the premise of your last paragraph. In my tl;dr post above, I've outlined how there are very few (if any) masculine male role models left. However, I do agree that all kids should not be forced into being close-minded or to fit one mold. (Edit: See Ken Robinson's talks on education.)

To reiterate and clarify, I am not for forcing all boys to be masculine. My position is that I am against forcing all boys to be less masculine.

To elaborate further, my ideal would be a scenario where people can balance who they naturally are with a person with some semblance of decent behavior in terms of not hurting people, etc. For example, I wouldn't want someone who is naturally pedophilic to be going around butt-fucking kids in the ass with reckless abandon.

And let's be clear about one other point: Women are getting a shitty deal as well. They're just getting it in different ways, and that wasn't the topic of discussion.

I completely agree with your points other than the bold, and they back up what I was saying in my long post above. I disagree with the bold because I did not assert anything of the sort.

The key problem facing boys today in terms of attracting women is that they can't earn status and confidence in the real world by being indoctrinated in the idea that who they fundamentally are as a person is wrong. When confidence and the drive to build status (ie: some of the main tenets of masculinity) are systematically removed from boys via the methods I described (the public education system and third-wave feminism being the primary culprits), then they have to learn to create these things from another source.

Game is a source that does that, and that's why it shouldn't be dismissed as a whole because of the marketing tactics of any one person. I'm sure you understand that from the content of your reply, but some people don't.
