Review my first affiliate attempt

I know this will sound pretty basic but promote something that is free for the end user to start with you will learn with these a lot faster.

Something like a zip submit or 3 or 4 field led gen. may be competitive but you will see conversions quicker then you can weed out the non converting keywords. It will also motivate you because you are seeing conversions.

You my only get paid $1 to $5 per lead or more depending on the offer but the volume is higher and you usually do not have to do as much pre-selling.

Also test your clickthrus if you are getting a lot of clickthrus but no conversions than the offer probably sucks if you are not getting many clickthrus than your landing page or your keywords suck.

If it does not work bag it, move on, and find another offer to promote.

this is my 1st attempt to promote my affiliate program.hope anybody can help me to promote this program better............

The offer isn't free as the landing page would have you believe, which is misleading. Also, the technology is pretty old. Not like no one already knows about this. The problem with web TV is that the quality is poor.

Lol, you are going to take advice from this guy? You should read his other post on "there is money to be made on the internet" :D

Hi all,new here,Iwas wondering if anyone could recommend an e=book on
Affiliate Marketing for the complet beginner,I have two but they seem to be geared for those who already have some experience.

Sam

There is a section on ebooks. Look for it:)

So I did what Mikey Mike suggested and I have set up Hillary or Obama - Who Will Win? Take this Survey

I have sent the actual landing page 80 clicks and from that only 4 people have entered in their email address and clicked submit. And that brings my grand half day total to $5.20
So far I spent 7 dollars on the domain and 9 dollars on adwords.

So now I've decreased the max bid to cut down costs and I'll try to think of some longer key phrases. I kept content network bids open but not much traffic is coming in from there.

Any other suggestions? :D

This is just my method so take it with a grain of salt, but I have always had better conversions when the landing page is themed similar to the offer page. Makes the jump less noticeable.

Cheers

Fucking noob needs to learn how to listen

OK..seriously... here are some suggestions (grumble)

Next time, PLEASE LISTEN to what people are telling you... FUCK
(Like the blue border thing? Don't even try to weasle out of this in front of this grumpy old German)

OK.. most of it is in the picture. For the font, please use
#content {font-family:Arial, Helvetica, dans-serif;}

(Css class just for illustration, no actual code from the page was hurt.)

Get your colors in order.

Second (worse one):

Just some playing with the CSS resulted in this, so it is all of 5 minutes work for you. (No, I am not giving you the new and improved CSS, do it yourself.)

As for more pointers on this:
I would use the nice orange for some more elements. Learn how to make one of those glassy buttons in photoshop and make a nice, orange/yellow one. It needs to glow and stand out.

As for not listening (AGAIN): PRIVACY, CONTACT INFO, ANYONE HOME?

Argh....

I wouldn't change anything on your landing page, designers will pick it apart because that's what they know. BUT you're not really looking to sell to web page designers are you? Design is one of the least important aspects of affiliate marketing, I know designers will argue it's one of the most important, but again that's what they do.

Work on your keywords. Find cheap ones, then find more cheap ones, then find more cheap ones. That will be a far better return on your time then worrying about the color of fonts?!?!

Remember if you can catch someone looking for what you're offering, (making your ads show because you bid on the RIGHT keywords), they will buy no matter what color your site is.

beejeebers > Thanks! And you find cheaper and cheaper keywords mainly through experimentation? Like using the adwords keyword tool and bidding on the ones with little or no competition?

I redid the hillaryorobama.us site to make it look more like the offer: Hillary or Obama Poll - Who Will Win? Take this Poll.. I know it wasn't converting well. I'll test to see if this page performs any better. Maybe the shock of a changing page design kept people from going and entering their email address.

Not sure yet if this is helping my affiliate marketing skills but I do know it's doing great for my XHTML and CSS skills :D

I do not agree completely with bejeebers, but alas...

For me, The design has to NOT SUCK.

::emp::

The design not sucking can't hurt at all. I'll try to make mine more un-sucky as you suggested. And I remembered the privacy, contact info this time around haha.

Want to make good landing pages? Go to the merchants page, copy it EXACTLY so that the person clicking your link would only notice they left your site by the domain name changing. You can tinker with your own content if you want, but the more your site looks like the merchants, the better.

You will not find cheap keywords using ANY keyword tool. You have to make your own keywords using your own tools.

You will not find cheap keywords using ANY keyword tool. You have to make your own keywords using your own tools.

Quoted for emphasis.

Your brain is the only unique thing you bring to this game. If Keyword Explosion has a 10% market share (probably much higher) and there's 1,000,000 people in the world doing AM ( probably much higher ) then there's 100,000 people with YOUR EXACT KEYWORDS.

That's not the recipe for cheap keywords. That's the recipe for an ass raping.

PS and 99,999 have more experience than YOU.

I used to advertise satellite tv long time ago when google decide to stop everyone from advertising satellite tv software, the reason given is "google do not allow site that have cracking content"

you can try to advertise this, but you will stop by google very soon
