What a coincidence! Saw this show for the first time yesterday.
Was told a story by someone who appeared on the show. He had an old car that he wanted to sell to them. Off-camera they asked him to rip out some interior part so it'd look more worn, and agreed to pay him $3,000 for doing so.
On-camera they said, "well, this part of the interior has been removed..." and they didn't buy it.
He still got $3,000 off camera just for appearing on the show and ripping out part of his car.
Also, I wonder if there are regulations around pawn shops selling stuff online. It seems like they are missing a huge ecommerce opportunity (last time I checked, they didn't sell stuff online).
Walking into a pawnshop is a losing proposition.
If you like pawn stars, look into a show called "Storage Wars".
Basically, when people can't pay the fee to keep their storage locker, the entire locker is auctioned out. The buyers can look but can't touch prior to bidding.
This is an oldie but a goodie. What's funnier is I have a friend who does this kind of buying/flipping shit for a living and he's exactly like this guy.
