That's fucking nothing. Holla at me if you need 50k installs/day, i prefer blackshades (not guaranteed, you need to make sure you're FUD before you talk to me) and I'll give you what you need. Come with money and referrals.

Just kidding, don't talk to me about this shit *AT ALL*!

Found a bitcoin mining calculator. Looks like 10,615 mhash/sec == $52/day or so.

If he's spending much time on it every day, he might be close to minimum wage :)

You need to make sure virustotal can't tell your ass from a .txt file if you wanna get anywhere, but really I've been out of that game for a long time and I don't feel like dabbling in anything that illegal. Ever. It's too much maintenance, even though back then I knew people making 4-5 figures daily using bnets and miners.

One guy bought installs purely to scan them for .wallets and snatch that shit. Dirty.

Only fools upload their wares to VT

Yawn.

10.6 Gigahashes ain't enough for me to open my eyes in the morning.

If you're going to risk jailtime for distributing malware, I'd say a couple of Terrahashes or five would be the bare minimum for this kind of risk... (At least until bitcoin gets well over $100.)

This programmer spent a ton of hours, is using a fair bit of hardware with overhead like bandwidth, and is risking jailtime for 1/6th of this boxes' output:

Bitcoin Mining Hardware 60 GH/s Bitcoin Miner - Homepage Support Products - Butterfly Labs 60 Gigahashes/Hour... Cost: $1,299.

The appreciation is key. I knew a guy posting on some .onion about having ~10k botnet like this one back when bitcoin was like $4 or so. Compare that today and you're chillin.

Also, consider this your friendly reminder to keep the .wallet on a jump drive tucked into a truecrypt hidden volume. :)

I don't know anything about bitcoins, but wouldn't the bulk of the cost come from electricity consumption?
