the biggest threat to your money is getting sued, it's not the dollar becoming worthless or bank failures.
Because we all engage in risky business or dealing with hostile clients, eh?

Speak for yourself. I've got 0% chance of being sued unless I go out and hit someone with my car. (Oh yeah, I don't even have one of those right now.) ;)

But even if you do get sued, what could be better at hiding your wealth from lawyers than bitcoin??

At any rate, we've all got an extremely large chance, if not certainty, of losing the vast majority, if not 100%, of the face value of our USD in the next decade or less.

Between 2007 and the present the doalr has been stable and every FDIC deposit redeemable.
Is this supposed to impress anyone? The government constantly lies to us about the value of those 'doalr's, as if they were even backed by something in the first place!

For that reason bitcoins aren't good enough because they leave a digital trace,
Do your homework, son. You sound like a fool. You have complete control over who can "trace" you to your bitcoin transactions.

illiquid,
Just because they aren't legal tender you call them illiquid?? There are tons of different exchanges and even local directories for your to buy and sell bitcoins on... Investors around the world are hoarding them like crazy and more than happy to take them off your hands at spot! WTF are you talking about?

I can buy and sell bitcoins on my cellphone with FAR more ease than I can send & receive $$$ from my US bank account.

and are to volatile.
Bitcoin's a grand total of 4 years old, but even after really scary news the other night about a blockchain security failure, bitcoin's value has slightly GROWN since then. If this is too risky for you then I guess you won't be happy until it's legal tender anyway.

The safest way to store money is in physical precious metals, precious stones etc.
Because those can't be stolen either?

Even if you have a 10-foot thick steel vault in the deep woods with armed guards circling it, your PrecMets are still subject to your government's outright theft. Yeah, that happened in 'Murika. But you still feel safe somehow... Sheesh.

If a burglar broke into my house and stole the computer with my wallet on it, My backup would save me. Try doing that with precious metals. Lol...

PM & BTC = FTW

I really do love the idea of bitcoin and have been buying them over the past few weeks. Unfortunately the funding system sucks in a major way. Hopefully that will be worked out in the near future.

Been also playing with litecoins, they're extremely volitile, but with the swings it's pretty easy to make a little money (Or in my case, extra bitcoins).

These videos are complete BS/anti bitcoin propaganda
I know Niels personally and he is a good guy. I think many Bitcoin proponents take critics too personally and likewise, many Bitcoin critics aren't addressing all aspects of the issue.
