So windows 7 is fucking awesome but...

All this pigeon/ducks/digsbies etc is great but wait till you try using the search function in Windows7 to find an obscure file urgently... then your fun is really gonna start

I use default aim as you lose lots of features when using trillian (file transfer, chat, ect.. I use those on a daily basis)

+1
I use image transfer, file transfer, etc daily, and it always fails with other clients.
aside from the ad at the bottom, aim is very sleek anyway (the new version)

Create a God-Like account in Vista & Win7

btw anyone know how to turn off the security warnings? UAC is off, but it asks me to confirm before running any exe

Since I am in a good mood today, here you go. (It works FINE with my two Win7 Ultimate machines.)

For Windows Vista Ultimate/Business/Enterprise :

1- Click Start, and type "secpol.msc" in the search area and click Enter. (You may receive a prompt from UAC, approve/login and proceed)
2- In the left list, choose "Local Policies", then "Security Options"
3- Set "Accounts: Administrator account status" to Enabled.
4- Set "User Account Control: Admin Approval Mode for the Built-in Administrator account" to Disabled.

For Windows Vista Home Basic/Home Premium:

1- Click Start, and type "cmd" in the search area, right click on "Command Prompt" and select 'Run as Administrator".

2- In the command prompt type "net users Administrator /active'" (Note the capital "A" in Administrator) and press Enter, you will get a confirmation as "The command completed successfully".

3- Click Start, and type "regedit" in the search area and click Enter, navigate to: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]
Double click on "FilterAdministratorToken" and set it to "0"

*************************************

Now log-off, and you'll see new account named "Administrator" is available, click on it to login.

Secondary option that is not as good, but will work for current user account without creating the “Administrator” account.

This is option is just farting in the wind in "my" opinion. Figured I'd throw it up just in case you did not want to do it right with the Admin account path. Since I first got Vista Ultimate I have set up all of my systems this way immediately after OS install and then used the admin account as my main account and the other "PROTECTED" accounts for Porn Surfing. LOL.

Tried Turning 'User Account Control' OFF?
by Grif Thomas

Open the Control Panel (Classic Style), then double click on "User Accounts", then in the "Turn User Account Control (UAC) on or off", UNCHECK the box for "User Account Control". Reboot the computer.

Once that's done, Vista may warn you of the lack of security by throwing a red or yellow warning shield in the lower right corner/system tray. You can disable that as well by opening Control Panel, then the "Security Center" icon, then select the "Don't Notify me and don't display the icon" option.

It won't cure all evils but should prevent many of the "Are you sure?" nag popups.

Between those two things above you should be fine.

what's wrong w/ the current search bar on the start menu?
Look for a file in an obscure location, or one that contains a certain phrase within it and it starts to get a bit more exciting. And by exciting I mean shit.

And where has the graphical telnet client gone?!
