That reminds me of the tuplipmania story where a Dutch investor bought a tulip bulb and left it lying on the side. One of his friends then came and fixed a meal out of it and ate it thinking it was a garlic or onion. Of course at this time tulip bulbs cost more than an average house so the guy was sentenced to something like 5 years in prison by a Dutch court and forced to pay back the amount it was worth to its owner.
