Background: My little brother comes to me about twice a month with crackpot ideas he came up with when he was smoking or something he had a dream about. They've never been viable, and were all kinds of crazy. Still, he kept coming to me. Then, about a week ago, he came to me and said he saw a hot new trend happening, that it was huge, and that it was the perfect thing. So I checked out Google Keyword tool, and Google trends. My fucking jaw hit the desk -- he actually found something viable.

We spent the past week sourcing the product, and building the website. It's rough, but it works.

The site is Snapback Hats | The Best Place To Buy Snap Back Hats

We've outsourced nothing. The theme is a wp theme, modified. The logo I made, we took the pictures, the whole thing. I firmly believe if a business is to succeed you must be able to, at least at the start, accomplish everything yourself.

Any suggestions?

make your buy now buttons stick out more

also the font you're using for the name of your products is kinda hard to read

and you probably want more information on the product pages -- not sure how those hats work sizing wise, but at least something

Well, first question I had was "what is a snapback hat?" and your site does not answer it.

The shopping cart is a plugin?

Make more of an effort with the photography.. can't be that hard to find a suitable background and not make the edge visible.
Lug a table wooden board to that spot and reshoot.

Also give me bigger pictures.

Next: Actually filling out "product information". You got 10 hats... can't be arsed to do even ten descriptions?

Also: "Featured" should either be the very first point in the top navigation or the last one.

Also: Sorry for the harsh tone, I just can't fucking sleep... second day now.

Don't make the customer fill out all his information and submit to find out how much shipping is. Let them know upfront.

Why would I buy from you and not amazon? I see better pricing on amazon. And you ain't selling adult diapers, viagra, dildos, it isn't embarasing to buy. Clothes people will PREFER to buy it in person, if it sells online, it has to be based on price. You ain't competitive, so your conversions rates won't be able to match those of others who are more competitive, sorry to say.

Like other said I have no clue what a snap back hat is. Need product descriptions. Need more and better pictures.

Take a look at zappos product pages for inspiration

Call me an idiot

but who fuckin cares if you guys dont know what a snapback hat is. Enigma is obviously going to hammertime the site so that it shows up oh da googlez for the people already searching, looking, trying to buy snapback hats.

It isnt his job to inform you of what it is, or why you want to buy it.

Its just his job to make the site and hats look pretty, so people searching Google take their hand of their penis and pull out their CC.

I don't get the "snap back" bit, its a stupid looking flat billed wanna be a rapper but are a white kid from the suburbs hat?

How about some product action shots? I assume they do something over normal baseball hats. I would also invest the $30-$100 on a light box set up, or find another way to do the product shots. Maybe you could stage them like someone just took it off and left it on the table? Have some blunts in a tin foil ashtray, and a 40oz on the table?

Jokes aside its a great start though, nice domain, easy to navigate site.

throw up a geo ip script and have that script return that city's hat on the homepage.

imo, you don't need a long winded explanation of what a snapback hat is like others have mentioned...chances are that if you are searching for a snapback hat, then you already know what it is. I checked KWE and the exact match results are impressive...even though KWE's data has been known to be "off a little" in the past.

I think you've got yourself a nice little niche with a lot of demand - but as someone else said, you've got to get your prices down to be competitive with Amazon.

my 2 cents.

Yes the customers already know he has an exact match domain, but he did post here telling us about the thing, least he could do is mention what they are to us.

Ok just so everyone knows, as far as I can tell a "snapback" hat is a normal baseball cap. The "snapback" refers to the cheap one size fits all plastic snaps on the back of the hat. Hats magically changed since I was a teen i guess? And with that bombshell.

You have got to to be fucking kidding me! Fucking dumbass kids, bleed them blind for being so stupid Enigma.

Snapback is essentially just the exact same caps we all had as kids.

Knocked out from popularity by "fitted" caps, and now they have done a full circle of life marketing re-hash right back into the mainstream.

Circle jerks for the win.....but I prefer to get mine at Goodwill.

All trends eventually seem to come full circle, so make sure you all hang onto your beanie baby domains and fraggle rock DVD's
