Steve Jobs Dead..?

^^^
Dont hate. Anything the guy touched turned to gold. Look at what he did with Pixar. The guy was a great leader. Limited or not; its his vision the company followed.

stay hungry stay foolish - steve jobs.

No one can sell vision like Steve could.

I'm not saying anything bad about steve jobs...that man was a genius when it came to innovation and design.

But tim cook is following very closely in steve jobs' foot steps and I don't see the company making any drastic changes over the next 5 years that jobs wouldn't have done too.

The iPhone 3gs and iPhone 4 were mainly developed while steve jobs was out on medical leave...I don't really see what you're trying to say? Steve jobs has had a very limited role in the company the past few years.

Limited role? I would imagine his primary focus the past few years would be doing whatever he could to see his company well into the future. It's not like he didn't know this day was coming.

I bet you don't know how half the shit in your house works, so long as it continues to work, who gives a shit?

That makes you a woman. GET BACK IN THE KITCHEN BITCH!

Your attempt to make Apple Mac users look retarded is failing. Most of Silicon Valley runs on Apple, why has Google bothered to put Steve on their homepage?

Are Google retarded too, is Facebook retarded? The only person who looks retarded right now, from the evidence is you.

Let us all know when you build a billion dollar internet company on a Windows or Linux will ya.

Most of the current billion dollar companies run on windows or linux, dipshit. Facebook AND Google have more linux servers than employees. If you were to look at a list of billion dollar companies, the chances are most of them give windows machines or their non-developer employees.

Oh, and don't forget this dickwad, salesforce.com browser stats:

Wheres your mac now retard?

Am I the only one that thinks without Steve Jobs apple wont be the same.

Here is a quick prediction for you...

Apple will fail again, just like it did against IBM - because once again, they don't let developers have free control over customizing their systems. This time however, instead of blaming it on the underlying business flaw Apple has always had, people will blame it on Apple losing Steve Jobs.

Very smart of Jobs to resign when he was told he had days/weeks to live. The share price hasn't tanked today, but if he was still CEO we would be looking at free fall. He really buffered the fall.

He was on medical leave...so he probably only worked a few hours a week or month. I'm sure all he really did was talk to tim cook and oversee how things were going. He already planned for the future years ago by training cook to be exactly like him, probably starting in 2005-ish when he first found out about the cancer.

To say he didn't do much would be wrong, and he still have a huge influence on the company...but he really took it easy in the past few years.

I mean how the insides work, I guess the obvious isn't so obvious when you're retarded.

Lol +1 for picking up on that, I thought nobody would, but you're still retarded for the following below...

So because you have firefox/IE you don't use a different OS, such as Mac OS?

Good one for posting a picture of 2007/8 data, we're going into 2012 soon yeah?

Last but not least you can't quote for shit, so I did it for you. I'll invoice you soon.

So because you have firefox/IE you don't use a different OS, such as Mac OS?

IE hasn't been on mac since 2003, dumbass. Do you see Safari on the list? Business rarely encourages Firefox over IE, since they can't control policies as easily.

You really think billion dollar companies make a habit of replacing hardware and software that often? XP still has a 36% market share.

Stop talking about shit you're clueless about.

I can't believe that Apple Stock (APPL) when up 5% on the announcement of his death

I was a little shocked it went up so quickly as well. I knew it eventually would sometime this week, because Apple is much more than Steve Jobs, but he was the face of Apple. Luckily he put everything and everyone in place before he passed, and I think investors see that Apple will still be strong without him because of the behind the scenes people around him.

That's irrelevant if they have or haven't. The point is your browser is no indication to what OS you're using.

Billion dollar companies normally have multi-million dollar contracts. I know a lot of companies that have million dollar hardware contracts with Dell, after so many years yes they sell the old hardware and they get massive bulk discounts for the new stuff. Just basic security, plus it writes off a lot of tax.

Why give the tax man a shit load of money when you can get a shit load of new stuff? That's not logical, nor does it make any sense, most tax savvy companies love spending money before the tax returns are due.

Seems you're clueless, but I'm bored of arguing with you. I Feel like you're trying to win the special olympics or something.

Very humble guy... Most business people become obnoxious and full of their own self worth.

He became more humbler as he got older, but this is still the opposite of the reputation he developed. I'm not an anti-Apple person wanting to bash someone after they've died, but the historical revisionism already going around about him being some type of combination of Jesus and Albert Einstein is laughable.

Wozniak liked doing the work more than standing behind a podium and by all accounts has always been a super nice guy, whereas Jobs loved the spotlight and was a demanding control freak.

Jobs' personal abuses are also legend: He parks his Mercedes in handicapped spaces, periodically reduces subordinates to tears, and fires employees in angry tantrums. Yet many of his top deputies at Apple have worked with him for years, and even some of those who have departed say that although it's often brutal and Jobs hogs the credit, they've never done better work.

How Jobs pulls all this off - how this bundle of conflicting behaviors can coexist, to spectacular effect, in a single human being - remains a puzzle, even though more than a dozen books have been written about him. Jobs is notoriously secretive and controlling when it comes to his relationship with the press, and he tries to stifle stories that haven't received his blessing with threats and cajolery.

This story is one of them...

"As soon as people heard I was writing a book on assholes, they would come up to me and start telling a Steve Jobs story," says Sutton. "The degree to which people in Silicon Valley are afraid of Jobs is unbelievable. He made people feel terrible; he made people cry. But he was almost always right, and even when he was wrong, it was so creative it was still amazing." Says Palo Alto venture capitalist Jean-Louis Gasse, a former Apple executive who once worked with Jobs: "Democracies don't make great products. You need a competent tyrant."

Do you think Apple would really not name the new iPhone the iPhone 5? What have all the other ones been? Do you think they named this one for Jobs after they knew he wouldn't be back, ie the iPhone "for Steve"?

I was about to get the iphone5 and they fucked that up without him in a very short period of time.

What did they fuck up exactly? Did you watch the videos? Just because they didn't call it iphone5 doesn't mean it's not an impressive piece of kit. I'm not an Apple lover at all, but it made me go "holy shit" when I saw the features and specifications. iphone5 will arrive when it's ready.

TNT re-airing "Pirates of Silicon Valley" right now as a tribute to Jobs is a bit odd, though Jobs himself did say that a lot of it is accurate.

this is still the opposite of the reputation he developed

True, I don't know where people got the idea that he was humble. All the interviews I've read over the years from people who had the opportunity to work with Jobs said pretty much the same thing, that he was an arrogant egocentric prick. It comes with the territory I guess. But, whatever, he's dead now.. may he RIP.
