I quit drinking and smoking weed about 3 months ago. It feels a lot better when your sober. Your energy levels and your overall health improves a lot, but I went out drinking last night and I have a small hangover and I've been smoking for about 2 days now.
Here are some things I noticed being sober vs not:
sober -
1. I felt great when i was sober, a lot more energy.
2. Saved a shit ton of money.
Bad things about being sober -
1. I am an asshole when I am sober.
2. Nothing to do because lots of the things I did was better with beer.
3. More energy, but that doesn't mean more focused. I would end up focusing on playing video games instead of focusing on work.
4. Lack of creativity. When people talked about smoking bringing out the creativity in them I thought it was just bullshit excuse. But I think I understand why it does. I don't think it makes you anymore creative, but it opens your mind to think in multiple ways to solve a problem instead of theres only one possible answer to it. The only problem is... being high and focused enough to channel that creativity into work. Sometimes I get high and clean the shit out of my house, but most of the times I get high and just feel like a rock and just sit on the couch and do nothing.
Bad things about Not being sober -
1. the hangovers - basically one day in your life you can bet you will never get anything done.
2. Weed can open your mind or close it depending on how your wanting to feel.
3. expensive - The bar is not cheap and neither is weed.
4. Your Health - Depending on how often you drink or do drugs you could be fucking yourself up pretty bad. And it can start to show (aka being a bum and not doing shit but drinking and partying).
But now that i've kinda been on both sides of the line I don't think it has to be so black and white as to be totally sober or not. Just drink once a week and smoke weed only when you want to work and hope that it helps you.
