Leaf: The automatic cannabis grow system

If they can deliver what they promise then they will make billions :) For medicine of course ;)

Stuff like this has been selling in the back of High Times magazine for 10+ years now. Nothing new about automated grow set ups. This doesn't automate anything that will reduce workload much. Adding water once a day isn't hard nor is mixing nutrients once a week and adding them. Trimming and hanging is the bulk of the work during the grow.

The thing is something this size will yield like 25 grams over 4 months and is gonna take 40 hours of work at least during that time frame from set up to clean up. Efficiency is just so bad with a something so small.

The way they it's marketed they try to pretend this will stay sleek and clean. After each cycle that thing is gonna have to be entirely taken apart and thoroughly cleaned. Otherwise you will have mold by your 2/3 cycle.

Basically just a hipster novelty not something that will actually save any body time/money.

You can set up a bad ass grow that will actually pay for itself for $1,500 no problem. The thing is you just gotta use a bit more space than a mini-fridge and count on the fact that it's gonna be a few hours of work each week.

It seems like OP is committed to giving away his money to any somewhat well marketed pitch.

Let's knock it off with this condescending bullshit about "marketers being marketed to". I don't care who you are, you've been marketed to, and you've bought something because of it. I'm guessing you are so perfect and immune to a good marketing campaign, that you've never bought anything huh?

Even if this has been around for years, I've never heard of it. Like I mentioned in my original post, I'm not a big smoker, and I haven't read High Times in over 20 years. I think it's a cool concept, even though it will probably have it's flaws, as Mike mentioned above. If these guys have success essentially taking an old(ish) idea and bringing it to mass market, kudos to them. Marketing well done. You can still take my money.

It comes with a live stream of your plant growing. It can't be disabled and automatically plugs into your Facebook. Enjoy jail.

Have you ever made an alternate account on... anything? Even if this wasn't for med users, legal states, etc [since the guy is pitching it on disrupt - not silkroad] - he could just connect it to a fresh FB account with no anything. What a problem solved.

I knew people go overboard with putting fb everywhere, but forced plugging to your fb which can not even be disabled?
