The Ugly Side Of Running A Network

I believe Copeac is the same, they do not allow account managers to run campaigns. I think it should be that way. They should make enough money from helping affiliates that they don't need to run their own campaigns.

wow right when i thought my respect for c2m couldn't go any higher this thread brought it to a new level.

I was just thinking exactly the same thing...Ruck, mad respect for protecting us affiliates...now I'm just hoping it's no one I work with over there

ive never run with ruck and always thought alot of people here blow smoke up his ass but i think its pretty solid that they don't run in-house stuff. i think thats a big conflict, i hate it when ams say shit like "oh i saw you ad" etc etc.

i also think its pretty funny how wickedfire treats ryan eagle...lol what a fucking loser this kid is. hopefully in 4 or 5 years he will look back and realize what a goof he is. reading his twitter post or dr_ngo posts, pretty damn embarrassing. black eye on the industry for sure.

haven't run huge amounts with 'em either but I'd suck ruck's dick any time of the day for no reason if he ever calls me.

He walks the talk. The kid fucking earns no matter what the public opinion of him is. At the end of the day, he profits which makes him legit, even if controversial. No matter my opinion of a guy, legit is legit, regardless of flamboyant personality.

I hate to take the side of Eagle, because he does act goofy as shit. However, I can vouch for him being legit. I can also vouch that he pays on time, all the time, and I'm not talking about a few hundred bucks. To call a self-made man who runs his own network a loser is pretty ignorant on your part. Goofy - yes. A self-promoting idiot - sometimes. But not a loser. He'll mature as he gets older, but I'm quite sure he's accomplished more than most people at his age and that has to count for something.

If I was running my own network at his age I would probably be 10 times the goof that he is. I was just flipping through some pictures from when I was 16 to 20 and I recommend for those on their high horse to do the same before calling someone a goof.

speaking of conflicts of interest, I know for a fact the network everyone thinks is "number one" has major issues in that regard. best to stay with the middle weights like c2m/copeac/a4d for CPA offers.

This is why I would never run a network. There are so many aspects and day to day drama's that you would have to deal with that rival other businesses. You can never let AM's run campaigns like a few other networks have done because what happens is they just look at all of the stats and steal the campaigns and offers that are converting well. So basically they have priceless market research on the backs of the publishers.

Haha relax, bud. Not everyone can be low-key awesome like yourself.

I like interesting characters, they make the world more interesting.

actually since you mentioned those examples along with the conflicts of interest, I'm pretty sure copeac runs their own offers and I know a4d does. Correct me if I'm wrong here.

i really don't like the idea of networks running their own offers and competing with affiliates. i think it creates a very unbalanced advantage and is unethical, but a4d does have a unique spin it. They hear about a new offer, niche or strategy, they get it and test it. Then they open it up to the network and tell their affiliates exactly what worked for them and what didn't. I don't know exactly how to feel about that but fuck it works. If you listen to everything your a4d manager says and do what they tell you as soon as a new offer drops you will make money.

What's up with that by-law dude? I can see a problem arising if there is some conflict of interest, but I don't tell AMs where I get my traffic and if they happen to use the same source...may the better marketer win.

It's called....wait...oh what's that word....COMPETITION?

I would want my AMs pushing the offers because it's more money for all and that's what an ad network is supposed to do! If a publisher's business is so fragile than an AM promoting the offer he is promoting causes him to lose out, good riddance! Seriously, the whole idea of being open about your business seems nice to a group of noobs but in reality it's better to keep your junk in your pants...at the very least, speak convincing in half-truths.

Why would you want to compete with the person who job it is to handle YOUR account? That's bullshit.

They can handle your account but as long as the newtork isn't giving AMs "inside info" on where my traffic is coming from then bring it on...and if AMs are running offers they'll know better which ones are working, etc so they could share that advice with me so I can make more informed decisions instead of wasting time and resources "testing" offers.

You could also do stuff like AM vs Affiliate competitions where you can get a bonus $$$ if you outperform the AM in sales or whatever for a particular offer.

Maybe you should just shut up before you tell us just how noobish you really are.
