PS- Lost a lot of respect for the Dutch after I saw the bit about what they did in Bosnia.

in 2008 235 people gave up their U.S. citizenship

2011 almost 1800 gave up theirs and this reflects people that legally renounced which is a process in it of itself.. its not like you can just go and say I don't want to play any more lol I would say the number of perpetual tourists that live outside the U.S is 10 times as much.

raw numbers comparing to the population is tiny

but truthfully.. if this was a stock I would say this trend is exploding don't you think?????

and I would even go as far to speculate that most if not almost all of them would be affluent people.

this is an alarming trend in my opinion

the only people migrating to the U.S. are lower migrants.. which is fine.

people with affluence and I am not talking about only rich people but people with some net worth seem to be getting the hell out.

I myself have exited years ago to a small country costa rica. and I am seeing in increase of people moving here much more than even a few years ago. I mean normal higher middle income folks.. and these folks are not even bothering to learn how to speak spanish

A more realistic position is more nuanced. A lot more gray than black or white.

there is a difference between a documentary and a propaganda film.

this is an 1.5 hour long propaganda piece rationalizing american imperialism and interventionism

Now, I know you can't include everything in an hour ad a half running time, but to make NO mention of the more than 50 US interventions of sovereign nations around the world, by their own hand or by proxy, since WW2 (which show why a lot of these areas are in such a mess and 'need' US 'help'), is to completely eviscerate any kind of balance that would have made this film credible.

the only thing you have to do is look at our military spending and wonder how long we can continue to sustain our World Police Force (tm)

and if you're interested in seeing polls done across the world of "who the biggest threat to world peace" is, the results might surprise you (hint: its not iran, n korea, or afghanistan). just google it.

Like any global empire, the US has done some good things, some bad things, some great things and some terrible things.

The same as all the other empires before it (British, Spanish, Frenchm, Ottoman, Roman, Greek, Persian etc etc.

All empires exploit their territory / colonies / economically or politically dependent states for their own benefits, always have done, always will. The US is no different here. Each war they start or join, is carefully planned and has set selfish goals (selfish in the sense it benefits the US first and foremost, ofcourse they could be secondary benefits but these are purely consequences of fulfilling the primary selfish goals


The US does not intervene / attack / bring "democracy" to other countries for the good of the local people (regardless of it's comical military operational names, Operation Freedom *lololol), but for it's own personal gain in power, economic or politcal goals.

This is just how governments / ruling elites work. The End.

Anyone that believes a country which accounts for 40% of global arms spending is a peaceful nation just trying to protect itself is insane. If your neighbor was buying up every weapon he could find, wouldn't you be a little worried that maybe he's not right in the head and pretty damn paranoid?
