Comfortis is cool, but certain dogs are prone to seizures on it, so it might not be the best solution for everyone.
Frontline and regular old school advantage are the safest.
Frontline is way safer than the over the counter shit you bathe your dog in, I guarantee you. Especially if your dog react to Hartz products, I'd stay the fuck away from that shit.
Hartz anything is BAD FUCKING NEWS, and I'm amazed if your vet actually recommended that shit. They are a big no no for most vets.

Hartz is so easy to get since it's sold everywhere. I'm surprised your vet recommended their products over the pricier stuff that actually works...and is sold at most vet clinics.
I got sucked into the cheapness of Hartz's products a few years back: It didn't work and my cat nearly died from the seizures it caused.

I think you need to sleep... considering you just defined the word "potential" above as if it was some significant medical term.
The amount of Permethrin is high but considering it's only applied in a small area on the dog... the likelihood of your dog climbing onto your wife and then turning on its back on an area of bare skin is very slim. If you're this paranoid about this stuff then you should start looking into things that are likely a bigger threat to your wife's pregnancy. Diet (do you eat chemical sprayed produce or organic? processed foods? caffeine, more than 1 cup a day = bad.) Does she exercise? Does she maintain low stress levels? etc etc...
Even if she did happen to come in direct contact with the dog's flea stuff, the symptoms are basically identical to what pregnant women frequent so she wouldn't even know she's having a reaction to Permethrin, aside from the seizures =P lol

If a cat is exposed to "Permethrins or pyrethrins you wash them immediately in Dawn dish soap, and it can save their life. As long as your wife didn't handle the stuff and a washed her hands after petting your little guy she should be cool, but if you think she was exposed, it's never a bad idea to check with her doctor.
Stick with frontline from now on though, Fipronil is the main ingredient and it's been used for ages ON human veggies to help keep away pests. Much safer for you and your dog.

So we ended up getting two baby labs, brother and sister. Awesome dogs! Neighbor gave them bones to eat one day, which I guess must have cut-up their stomachs. One got sick before the other, so took him to the vet I like, got him some meds, and a few days later he was fine.
Then the second one got sick the same way, so we gave her the leftover medicine. It was working, but not as quickly as her brother. My neighbor was taking her dogs to a vet one day, and suggested we hop in, so we did. The vet pumped the dog full of some IV, and she had about a 2.5 inch bulge in her back from it, while it soaked into her body. About 8 hours later, she was dead.
Geez, thanks for bringing back the memories.
I still miss that cute, pudgy little girl always at the bottom of the stairs in the morning, smiling like mad, and wagging her butt, waiting for her morning pet and feed. She was blind as a bat too, which made her even more cute in my mind.
