Sooooooo, mmmmmmmm, was there any weapons of mass destruction (WMD) in Iraq?? :smilie_weihn_winki:
I don't think many right wing members here liked Bush, and the fact that he keeps getting dragged into every one of these threads when no other relative arguments can be made speaks volumes.
Its funny how none of the righters would answer, if they would support the scenario where he/she would be disqualified for the job ONLY cause she is a tranny, altho qualified.
Personally I don't care about your personal life - if you are the best person for the job you get the job.
The thing is, I won't pretend to be an expert, but he/she appears to be simply qualified. Not the best person for the job.
There's a huge difference.

A party buddy of mine went away after college to Bermuda a few years ago. He was the general manager of 10 high class jewelery stores on the island (they sold the most platinum Rolex's out of all North American stores a few years ago).
He loved it at first and the money and lifestyle was great. But even being there a week to visit I found the island of 50,000 just too small and so did he.
A few years ago he moved to Geneva but who took over his job was very interesting. Bermuda tries to keep their unemployment rate as low as possible. When an opening for a job comes up in Bermuda the company will get resumes from Canada, US, UK, etc and some Bermudians (remember that Bermuda is/was a hub for insurance and high class, well paying jobs witch attracted a lot of international applications for jobs).
By law if the Bermudian has experience in a comparable field and has the skill/education necessary they get the job. It doesn't matter if the Bermudian was the best for the job, they just have to be qualified to get it.
My buddies replacement was a Bermudian women dumb as a post and they've gone from being one of top jewelry stores, for their size, out there to 4 stores and running 8 figure deficits each year.

Just because people are qualified doesn't mean they are necessarily right for the job. You need someone with both experience in the field and the proper education/connections.
From what I've read this is more of a PR/political move instead of a move that will benefit the country. Thus I don't agree with this, but that seems to be a reoccurring thing with all American politics these days.
