Have you setup a twitter account. If your blog is setup with wordpress you can auto tweet content with a good twitter plugin like tweet this.

"The words on the right of the photo look like a menu, but they aren't."

I thought the same.

And the text is a shade light imo.

Otherwise, very nice. I might consider a touch of color in the menu, but that's just me searching....

I like the clean look, but I feel like like the page is a little washed out.. a little subtle color would go a long way imo

I'll take a stab.

1. As tavin pointed out, definitely washed out. One way to easily address this is to remove the requirement to hover over an image in order to see the full color version of your recent projects. It's a no-no imo to make the visitor work just to see your image previews. Make them all stand out by default, and if you want some :hover action, do something else like have it show a border. It's a cool effect by animating them to life on hover, but immediately on pageload they're too hard to see. edit: I see on your portfolio page you're doing what I think you should for the 3 img previews on your home page; stick with that format instead.

2. Sub text under "TY Creative" of "web development - web design -" etc.. needs to be enlarged BIG TIME. It's like you're almost hiding it from the visitor. You want them to immediately know/understand what TYCreative is. So make it much bigger (even perhaps big enough to span across the entire width of the layout) and less gray (maybe black or that blue).

3. Aside from the subtxt too small, the paragraphs of text you have (right aligned) are too small in font size as well. Increase it a little bit more and make it darker. Small and washed out = bad.

4. The centered list of what you do doesn't look like a list enough, and it's also too small. Make it very apparent that it's a list either by some sort of line separation between each item and/or a bullet point (doesn't have to be a typical black circle, could be anything custom).

It's not bad, just a few quick adjustments would make a good difference.

I totally agree with dreamache. And one thing i noticed is the follow us on facebook and twitter have very small fonts which makes it very hard to notice. You should try to emphasis those one, if you want to attract followers on those sites.

to be honest the fact that you are offering web design and ask in a public forum how your own website looks like is a bit of a turnoff

I doubt his target audience reads WickedFire.

Agree with the text to the right of the photo that looks like a menu. It's because the first item is highlighted and they're all arranged in a list. That's the only thing that stands out, I think the hover effect on images is a flashy thing that would impress potential clients, and is worth keeping.

I don't know what but the design doesn't seem appealing for a web design company.

For example, this site Web Design, Website Design, Web Designers Services & Resources looks much better than your site.

That site has so much stuff going on that it's making my head hurt. I'm not saying the OP couldn't incorporate a few items from the crearegroup site, but I'm a big believer in simpler is better.

To the OP. Just making the 3 recent project images color would be a huge improvement to the site. It would all but eliminate that washed out look you're seeing.

The alpha'ed out thumbnails on the homepage look weird, and the stock photo of the city skyline doesn't add a whole lot either.

I would make the homepage a lot more like this:

TY Creative - Portfolio & Recent Clients

Just get straight to the point and show the work, after all not everyone will click past the first page.

Hi Tom,

Its look nice and simple but I think as a web designing company you must modify and upgrade your site as like today web world.

here are some tips for you,

1. In HOME page the words right to the image are really look like MANU but it dosen't,

(

Web Design
Web Development
Website Management
Data Entry
eCommerce
SEO
Web Hosting
Internet Marketing
Blogging
Advertising

)

2. In HOME page you placed 3 templates, please use jQuary slid bar instead of normal images, I think it will change your web look.

3. In PORTFOLIO page you placed 6 templates, please use light box it will also change your web look.

4. In SOCIAL PROFILE page you used CUFON but it is not SEO friendly.

5. The BLOG page is not so clear make it more interesting and the are some problems also, like "Search for :" text box overlapping "Search Blog" word. Loats of links are missing.

I think it will help you a lot.

I am a web developer also for more help, I can assist you. PM me.

Siddhartha.

Well this site looks quite clean but especially with web design wouldn't you want to impress your prospects a bit with a more colourful impressive looking site. I just think 'grey' is a bit bland.

Good luck
