What Bank do you like/work with?

I used Wachovia (now owned by Wells Fargo) for both business and personal. I've never received wires on my personal account so not sure if they have incoming fees on personal accounts. However, I've never been charged for incoming wires on my business account and outgoing wires cost me $10/domestic, $22/international through the Connections program.

I would generally throw my support toward Chase, as they are all over the country if you travel a lot, especially since taking over WAMU. Their online banking interface is awesome, BUT they just raised the domestic wire fee to $20!! International is still $45. Also, they limit you to 500K/day for outgoing wires processed online. Anything over that, you have to go into the branch which is a really annoying. If you have pretty basic needs I would go with a Credit Union. Most charge $8 for incoming and outgoing wire fees.

Ahem. I am a girl. (Ref. line above my avatar)

damn, now I'm gonna have to find that twitter pic...

I called my dad at work. In his kindest work friendly voice, he casually mentioned that if you aren't banking north of half a mil per year or won't be giving their IB / WM departments a large lump sum to manage on your behalf, expect to be treated like hired help. End quote.

heh, yeah that's kinda what I figured

Just chatted with Schwab for some more info and again, excellent support.

Took about 15sec to get connected and the guy knew what he was talking about.

Free incoming wires national and international.

Outgoing are $25

They have a really cool credit card too with an automatic 2% cash back.
Would be a great alternative since AMEX won't approve me...

And turns out, I'm FDIC insured even as a foreigner (or that's what he said)

Whoa, leave it to me to giveout bum advice ;)
I swear I read that bad FDIC info somewhere else on the web, but here ya go straight from the FDIC website:
Who does the FDIC insure?
Any person or entity can have FDIC insurance on a deposit. A depositor does not have to be a citizen, or even a resident of the United States. FDIC insurance only protects depositors, although some depositors may also be creditors or shareholders of an insured bank.
