I love putting together paid search campaigns, and for someone with no formal training, I'm not half bad at designing sites either. I can write/edit html, css and some PHP in a pinch. I can research until the cows come home. I can do on-page SEO with the best of them. I don't mind copywriting.

But I hate link-building. Actually, I'm not the only one. When I look through SEO proposals, it's amazing how much CRAP they put in there to distract you from the fact that they don't actually build you links.

Manual linkbuilding and Social media marketing are the two things I'm "afraid" to do. Tough things to outsource too.

I can admit that my aversion to manual link building is definitely holding me back. I just can't bring myself to do it, which I know is fuckin stupid. Might be because my career began in sales and then traditional PR, and I remember what a nightmare cold-pitching and cold-calling were. Or it could be because I secretly know that nothing about my content is really link-worthy. If I had some great product, I'm sure I'd be falling over myself to tell others about it.

What are you afraid to do or what task do you absolutely DREAD? Have you been able to successfully outsource it? Have you overcome the hurdle and dones it yourself? Is it currently holding you back?

Not seeking guidance, just curious what everyone else's Achilles heel is.

It's not something I'm afraid of doing but it is certainly something I hate to do and use put it off for a while: article writing. It's boring as hell, and I hate having to fit my keyword (especially long tails) into the article enough times that I'll rank for it and still have the article come out good enough to convince the reader to click my link.

working with AdWords to try and make a campaign that has a good QS, high CTR, and low CPC = the worst.

Clicking rickRoll links at WF - in fact at this present moment that fuckin song is coming from my computer as I am browsing WF and I have no idea where it is coming from!!

Stealth rickRoll

I don't dread doing anything. It's way too profitable to complain about any of this.

I love the link building part. (Inb fact I do it for a couple of other companies too!)

Dealing with fuckwit networks pisses me off.

I love the marketing part. Figuring out what people want. I especially like to work with images. Humans are very visual creatures and it plays on the psychology of marketing.

I hate and barely scrape by with the tech stuff.

yeah getting a great quality score is tough. im a self taught master of php so if i want to edit a list of 10000 keywords ill write a small script to make the changes i want. i love php, i wish i was as good at marketing as i am coding.

Link Building and writing copy is the worst, everything else like programming, site design, PPC, Split-Testing, ect... are all easy to me.
