Anybody ever been here? Stuff to checkout?

I've been going out to shows, and the popular spots, anything else?

I live right in Shibuya so pretty close to everything.

How come cafe's here don't have free wi-fi? WTF?

See if you can join an underground car drifting ring and steal the current drift champions girlfriend. I've also heard they have really cool machines that auto serve beer.

Roppongi for the Gaijin loving girls. Get some Kobe steak a one of the 20 or so 3 star Michelin restaurants. Train judo or karate. But I think Tokyo is like any other big city, whatever you like is there. Kyoto is probably a better bet to 'see the sights'

Headin to Roppongi now for the Tokyo International Film Festival.

Thanks for the suggestions, lol.

Get to the fish market at 5am, watch a real tuna auction, and then have the freshest sushi in the world right there for breakfast.

Been up the skytree yet? How long you going to be in town, bro?

A couple months so I'm not in a rush or anything. ;)

Keep the suggestions coming guys. I appreciate it!

How do you like tokyo? For some reason I always wanted to go there. After watching tokyo drift I found the city fascinating, no clue why. I don't even like drifting and all that.

It's almost like any other big cities except that there are no homeless people (I've only seen 1-2 and they were recyling, not panhandling). The public transportation is super-effecient, people are super-nice and polite (try to make an effor to speak Japanese), only downside is nothing is in English but you can point to things on the menu for the most part.

Rent is kinda expensive, I'm paying USD 1.7k/mo for a single room in a 3BR share-house but the location is pretty central so it's whatever.

You should definitely come check it out! You'll get overwhelmed at first but that's the fun part. :)

oh, and the toilet will have a dryer so your anus stay dry.

For some reason I imagine tokyo a big party city. I can see the clubs being mad crazy and people getting really into it. I think I'm still imagining the movie tokyo drift, lol.

How long have you been living there? You also said people there are friendly, are you asian? I'm not but find the city to be interesting to visit.

It is!

There's always things happening all the time and everything is always open till late, i.e. stores open till like 9-10 PM as opposed to just bars. The last train is at midnight so most people just go to Manga Cafe's to kill time till the first train at 5 AM.

There's lot of stuff to do all the time from shooting Pachinko to going to shows, arts and movies. If you live in Central Tokyo, it's always safe to walk by yourself at night, there are no "ghetto's" in Tokyo and the poor area are just poor because old people with retirement funds and no income live there.

You can also read Hentai's at 7 Eleven's for free. I do look Asian so I have trouble telling people I don't speak Japanese, they'll think I'm joking but if you're white/foreign looking and show a bit of humbleness, people will like you. Just say "I'm sorry" all the time, even when you mean Thank You!

Shinjuku at night is awesome. Check out harajuku/akihabara its pretty interesting.

Roppongi at night to pick up women.

Do you want to pick up women, or enjoy the culture ( visit temples, etc)?

What about the language barrier? I guess you would need a decent grasp on Japanese to be able to pick up local girls?

Going to be in Tokyo next summer after a bit of Thailand and Australia.

I always lol at 'culture' being visiting temples and stuff. It's a bit like going to London and visiting churches for the 'culture'.

Culture is a living breathing thing always changing imo.

Local girls will be difficult IMO, local girls that like foreign-men will be hanging out at Roppongi though but if you're going to Roppongi it's very dangerous to go alone at night, people have been drugged and robbed right next to the police station, anyway, there's plenty of "gaijin-girls" to go around if you're not shy i.e: foreign-students. As a matter of fact I got a date with this English girl this Sunday haha. Might get lucky. :D

That's pretty cool. I'm assuming you're traveling alone? What made you decide to go to tokyo and stay for a couple of months? Also what have you been doing there lately? Where do you usually go to hang out?

Check out the ICU Campus ( Its in Mitaka ( 20-25 minutes from central Tokyo) Pretty much everyone speaks English, or are pretty dam good at English compared to locals)
