What's happening to America?

French mistake.

My mistake is to be French.

I am judged by my citizenship.

Otherwise, I think, in France and in the USA our true enemies are from within.
Our leaders lead us to self destruction.

While other countries look for victory and hegemony, China you name it.

Yes, you can find weapons in Europe and organize massive crimes.
But you need to get connected to criminal organizations.

That is what Breivik did.

In America, there are way too many guns, in <<second hand market>>, if I can write it, this way.

To conclude, you have Great people in the USA, as Ron Paul.

I regret, we do not have such Great person, in France.

Submission / servitude to the European tyranny, is officially our only option.

So, the only proper answer would be that, too many people with mental troubles are not detected / managed, and with guns at hands, turn murderers.
The French have a health care system that should be the envy of us all. Everyone gets taken care of at far lower cost, even with all that smoking. Vive la France.

It seems most of you cannot reply to this subject.

You avoid the main subject, and joke.

These people are a minority, unfortunately, new regulations will be set up, which would effect the whole population, in the USA.

In Europe, we have people with mental sickness, but it would not be that easy to get guns, especially assault rifles.

You realize there are riffles that aren't assault riffles that can do more damage than say an AK-47. After a ban on assault riffles you'll still be able to get those riffles. Even if we banned all guns people would use hammers, knives, etc. You ever seen someone beat half to death with a hammer / socket wrench? I have and it's ugly. One guy was beat so bad he lost the color in his eyes. There was less blood when I was shot with a .45 and getting shot probably hurt less to.

The Solution: Ban bullets.

Everybody will feel safe while carrying a gun with no bullets, nobody is going to be shot = no more crimes.

Me for president, actually.

Please dont' quote my reply like you're actually responding to something I said, I was just quoting the guy above me and bolding things like "riffle".

Please don't get on your period over something that happened on the internet and has no affect to your current and future life at all.

Saw this posted by CNN on Facebook. Made the mistake of thinking that maybe just maybe we could not blame this one on our gun laws since this dude was obviously a lunatic.

The first comment with 9001 upvotes:

WELL MAYBE IF GUNS WEREN'T AS EASY TO GET AS TIC TACS

I literally have no energy left in me to argue against gun control anymore... They're so fucking relentless; it's truly unbelievable. The worst part is all of their conclusions aren't based in reality so you can't even REALLY argue with them, because they don't appear to possess the ability to use logic or reason. You can prove them wrong 100 times but at the end you're still wrong! It's like arguing with a troll except they aren't trolling, which makes it even more frustrating, because you can't even just dismiss it as "oh they're just trolling." THEY ACTUALLY THINK THEY'RE RIGHT

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK

What is happening to Americans?
Ron Paul, Peter Schiff, Mises Institute, Simon Black, the entire school of Austrian Economists, and hundreds of other economic-sensitive sources have been screaming the answer to your question from the rooftops for years now and yet all you can do is worry about Gun control, specifically at a time when, like Moxie pointed out above, there aren't as many gun-related crimes as there were in the past.

The reason you think we have problems now with guns is because you have been MARKETED TO.

Hey, here's a fucking idea.

When you KILL your fucking GRANDMOTHER you don't get to ever get out of prison again. What the fuck...
And what, let the dangerous local marijuana dealers get away with selling a substance that has killed millions?

Exactly. Lowest violent crime rates in 40 fucking years but you'd think we were living in Mad Max times the way the media is selling this shit. Obvious agenda is obvious.

If we really want to have fun - check some of the correlations between abortion and the reduction in violent crime. I believe the original Freakonomics has an interesting chapter on why that rate of violent crime may have fallen so drastically, and it has nothing to do with gun control.

I'd love to see the media take that on.

Would be interesting to see Moxie's charts with an overlay of age of population.

Say murders in per 100,000 for age range - that would fit with the Freakonomics chapter I think, unless I am mixing it up with Tipping Point.

I was actually thinking of the chapter on abortion. The legalization and prevalent nature of abortion and it's affect on the crime rate is one of the unintended consequences explored in the book. Less unwanted babies = less crime. That's the correlation in the chapter I'm thinking of, but the population argument is a good one as well.

I like that nobody who is posting in a forum named "Shooting The Shit" is arguing for gun control, I like it when things make sense.
