What's the point of "Occupy Wall Street"?

I agree with them mostly because of the primary point; that money inside of politics is poison.

I would submit to you that you are only partly right - as it stands politicians come from two different thought processes:

1) Go into politics to gain influence and power and then sell that influence to the highest bidder and become rich without working.

2) Go into politics because I want to make the world into "a better place" (communism/socialism, environmentalism...)

By removing the money from politics you'll get rid of politician no.1 and be stuck with MORE politicians from no.2 who are much more dangerous psychopats than merely some garden variety scammers and liars.

It is a start, but remember to be careful of what you wish for, you wouldn't want another Stalin or Hitler to rule you...

This is fucking idiotic.
There's tens of thousands of computer geeks out there that at least vaguely support anon, and you don't think they can put together a basic video with a voice modifier?
Hell, there's even people on WickedFire that could make those videos if they had the time. No budget needed.

Bad videos do exist you just never see them....because they suck no one reposts them, and they drift into obscurity. The repost mechanism anon's messages spread through ensures only high quality ones get seen.

1) Did I start calling YOU an idiot? And trust me I had plenty of reasons to do so judging by your posts in this thread... Chill, will ya.

2) Re-read my response. I was talking about hitting the right amplifiers (do you know what an amplifier is?) AND professional voice acting. You then respond to me with something completely different, that has nothing to do with the CONTENT to "prove" your point- i.e. voice modifier. You don't get it, do you?

3) Post me links to those "crappy" videos if you would. Would it be that they are the same in CONTENT but bad in APPEARANCE? A lot of people seem to base something on appearance (for instant good or bad spelling in the case of writing in order to accept or dismiss it) but not the content...

Apologies. I do not have patience for unproven conspiracy theories, but I should have restrained myself.

Go for it. I haven't delivered a solid spanking since hellblazer ran away.

I know that for anything you can name there's people that do it. And if there's people that do it, there is a reasonable chance that anonymous can do it as well. People don't leave work and disappear. They go home and sit online, watch TV...and a certain number are anonymous.

Random one to Neo-Nazis. Shitty content, shitty quality, shitty everything.

Here's a couple ugly ones for #opdarknet.

#opwallstreet (this one sucks, both content and appearance)

...I don't exactly keep the shitty ones on hand though. When I said they disappear into obscurity I wasn't kidding.

If you know the videos, you can more or less tell what group they came out of. Because there are social circles and they tend to go to the same people for work like the videos. This background generally means anonyops for example.

It just shows how un-alert people are. Go watch their videos. They are professionally made on a substantial budget, the voice is highly scripted and professionally acted, always hits the right amplifiers.

Hackers my right cheek...

Just because you can't, doesn't mean others can't. The videos put out by Anon are nothing special and are nothing that couldn't be done by an amateur.

LOL, I like your combative spirit, even though I gather it is based partly on a false sense of confidence due to my low post digits. You should not judge a book by its cover, son, it'll get into some life trouble down the line.

As some smart co-actor script in a Schwarzenegger film once said: "I like smart, I don't like smart ass."

Well, well you must have been present at those filmings, or is that a hint of "I heard it on the one eyed jew" talking?

Again LISTEN to the CONTENT not the production value. A few here must be dyslexic as I swear I said this about two other times before. What can you do, ha? You can't reach them all, if any...

Haha thanks. But It has nothing to do with your post count. I haven't been around much lately, but I'm a bit of a veteran at arguing politics and I'm a bit of an information/news junkie. I'm confident because of myself, not because of my opponent.

Trust me bro, when shady says a solid spanking - he is not joking. I will fetch the popcorn now.

^Me too! Extra butter...

That thread where he gave Hellblazer the spanking is easily the WF thread of 2010.

Here's hoping this is the thread of 2011.

And lack the will or capacity to effect change, so basically, you'll settle for whatever you get, and then defend it like you made a conscious choice?

eh no

Ultimately, these discussions don't come down to gotcha trolls, or "Guerilla is an anarcho-capitalist".

If you endorse violating individual liberty and preventing voluntary action as necessary, then what exactly is so great about your system?
not my system, just the one on the table at the moment.

What's so great about it? Not much at the moment. Obviously. Other than as I said it seems to be keeping our species' shit together to a greater or lesser degree, which I don't think would be the case otherwise. Maybe I'm wrong, hard to know.

And for the sake of clarity, construing my words to sound like I endorse the necessity of undesirable social compromises inside a social contract is inaccurate. Whether or not the argument itself is indeed true, your statement would lead one to believe that I approve of a part of a thing that is undesirable simply because I approve of that thing on the whole as desirable. This is false. Setting the truth of the argument aside, I do not need to believe that violating individual liberty and preventing voluntary action are worthy of endorsement to believe that a system in which these undesirable parts are present is worthy of endorsement. I need only believe that accepting a system which violates individual liberty and prevents voluntary action additionally provides sufficient benefits, and prevents sufficient additional undesirables, and recognize no better alternative system to choose from, to consider it worthy of endorsement.

Because doing so would not adequately reflect reality.

History has always been bla blabla. Whatever your position is, I disagree because I am practical and your position is irrelevant.
The entirety of history simply does not fit into this statement. It's difficult to answer the question when the person who asked it condemns historical references..
