It's not secret, and I've never been one to deny it.

I'm Jewish.
(We prefer to be called Jewish, not a Jew, but I don't care really, it's just something others seem to care about)

Happy Purim to those who celebrated it late last week! It's a Jewish holiday.. and included a fast day, as usual. We're always mourning! BAH!
Passover is coming up, and I hate that holiday the most. Those damn Matzahs make you all constipated and you want nothing more than to eat pizza or bread during the whole holiday. It's one of the few holidays I actually keep, for the most part still.

Anyone else celebrate these holidays?

Here's a better question for you fellow Jews.. who here keeps kosher and/or Shabbos?? Did you grow up being religious or forced, or did you get into it later in life, on your own terms?

I was raised Modern Orthodox and attended a Jewish prep school until HS, so I know all of the laws, rules and traditions. I just choose not to follow any of them anymore. I can also understand Hebrew fluently, read and write it, but speaking it has always been tough, so I tend to assume the person understands English, and answer them back in it. I also know a bit of Yiddish and German.

I'm definitely not a believer in any magical man in the sky that has a plan for everyone, but I do pray to God when I'm in deep shit or nervous about crashing on a flight. If I had to choose a God to pray to, it would probably be the Capitalism God or the Sun God (because I can see it without dying afterwards, it brings me warmth, etc.) Ah well. Life is too short to keep kosher.

I'm Protestant; baptized Catholic.
I went to church every Sunday from Kindergarten - HS Graduation.
Now that I am in college with 90% Jewish people I have fallen in my Christian studies but learned a ton more about other Religions such as Judaism & Hinduism.

I'm baptised Catholic and spiritual but not religious. The whole Catholic beuracracy (sp?) really pisses me off. Protestantism makes a lot of sense but I can't really convert seeing as I'm Irish, wouldn't be too popular

Wonderful question!

I'm a Christian. What does that mean? Well, I believe that Jesus die on the cross and resurrected himself on the 3rd day (Easter). Jesus was a Jew on earth, so I believe that Jews are still to this day are a blessed group by God. Look at Israel....God has protected that nation for many years and America has suffered persecution for protecting them...it's spiritual warfare between the nations right now.....UGH...I'm going off in a tangent....

I believe in the Bible as Jesus' word and I try to live by it every day.

I am human. I make mistakes. I sin. I will never be perfect.

However, that's why Jesus died for me...to wash away my sins.

This website gives a great outline about salvation:

Salvation Prayer

Blessings!

I was baptized and brought up catholic. I remained catholic until I actually listened to what the priest was saying.
Nowadays, I believe in a higher power? Sure. But do I believe he cares where I put my cock, or has an ego large enough to believe you have to praise him every weekend? No. Seems to me someone/thing that created existance(providing it's even a concious entity, which I doubt in many respects) would already be pretty sure he's a badass, and not need someone re-affirming it all the time.

But once again, I doubt it's even a real entity. More of energy.

Brought up evangelical southern babtist. I have a memory, in Highschool of looking up at the preacher talking and then looking around at everyone and having a revelation (no pun intended) "This is a gigantic load of crap"

I'm now an atheist.

I have a strong distrust for all religions and believe that if they didn't exist this world would be a better place. (although I also believe the reason we have religion is that theres a genetic disposition for it so if we didn't have religion, the need would be replaced with something else, capitalism, patriotism...etc)

Brought up Lutheran, been atheist since I was confirmed (actually it happen way before that but had to go as the parents wanted me to.)

Religion = bunch of horse shit - give me money, give me money.

Bibles the best story ever told.

I'm hindu and proud of being one!

I don't practise a lot of what my ancestor's used to practise, but i still hope that one day i can read those scriptures and get to know the REAL hinduism.

I'm a part of the church of George Michaels, all we have to do is...
we gotta have faith...fa...faith...fa...faith
