What's Your Religion & How Into It Are You?

Brought up Christian, will remain a Christian, and will raise my children (when I have them) as Christians. I used to attend church twice a week, one on Wednesday and once on Sunday. But, I'm only twenty and a full time college student, so hey, I go every once in a while. But I have a tremendous amount of faith. :)

Raised pentocostal. I fell out of the church long ago, started going back around 18 (turn 21 in a few weeks) been going every saturday, sunday, and a few other programs through out the week. Im non-denominational now. I believe what the bible tells me not what some church does.

Absolutely. I'm non-denominational as well. I have been to several different churches and read their practices, but do not want to believe everything that some guy claims is "true".

This is just superstition. How many hundreds of thousands of people also tithe their church but have no increase in income?

Oh yeah. I guess because everyone who tithes doesn't become filthy rich, tithing and success could not possibly be related ;)

Non-denominational

A little off topic, but did anyone see that episode of Wife Swap with the "God Warrior" family, and the Wicca family? Fantastic! The Wiccans have a CoP in their backyard, the God Warrior mother sees it, and proceeds to start vomiting all over it :D

Janaic: What type of Christian?

I'm Catholic since I'm 17, I was raised as an agnostic.
Now, I'm very into it. I go to mass every Sunday, I sing in the choir, I have fun with the girls, etc. :)
Sure, I "misbehave" now and then but I commit no crimes.

I am very open-minded, despite that. I only care a few rules. They are ten, and you know them well. :)

Fuck religion.

If there is a god, from any religion, fuck him (or her).

The shit that happens to kids on a daily basis pisses me off. They're raped, killed, die of starvation or horiible diseases, suffer through war, are abused, etc.. Fuck any God that'd let that happen.

I drink, swear (alot), gamble, and will fuck anything that bends over in front of me, so it's a pretty safe bet I ain't gonna see the pearly gates but that's ok because after I had my say they'd probably re-route me in a southern direction.

I was raised Methodist though so I'll probably get into heaven as long as I bring a covered dish.

Gumby!

LOL^ I remember the first I said that (and the expression of the person I was with) I remember asking, "Are you telling me that my gay friends won't be allowed into heaven because they're gay? Fuck God! If that's heaven, I don't want to come in. Everyone knows it's not a party until the gays show up!"

Does anyone else find it funny that something that was originally being pitched as a joke alternative/substitute to Creationism in classrooms has actually gained this much traction?

It was more than a joke..
I agree 100% that if they teach "intelligent design" in schools passing it for science, those kids deserve to hear all sides of the story.
flying pasta side included.

praise thy noodly goodness... ramen.

If Pastafarianism continues to grow, its origins will become as murky as the rest in a few hundred years and will be just as legitimate as the rest. Jesus, Yahweh, Mohammed -- shake hands with the Flying Spaghetti Monster. You'll be sitting side by side soon.

Ramen.

However, our religion was formed against the rituals and corruption that existed in Hinduism and Islam. So as such we are a pretty non-conservative religion.

I do follow one teaching of my religion -- especially, the more positive your mindset and the more you say that something will happen, the more the likelihood that it will happen (bahuta kahiye, bahuta hoye).

Apart from that, I am more of an atheist and money being my real religion.

I don't believe in organized mind controlling religion. I believe in God, but do not believe that a dude in a monkey suit, passing around a plate for money so he can pay his bills, is someone I should listen to. My church is in my mind, my heart and in the company of loved ones. Not uptight fakers who don a suit and a fake smile for one day a week.

Atheist. Ok I live a christian life a little though, celebrate christmas, easter etc. No that I care whatever it means, I just eat the food and get the gifts lol. But I don't believe in god.

I have very little respect for people that follow other people dogmatically and kowtow to them and give money to them even though they are as fallible as anyone else. But, I can respect this attitude.
