I got started in a similar way that the OP did.

I was on my dad's computer one day in 2005, putting up listing for footbags ....

When I read this I thought you were selling douchebags. And I wondered what kind of price you could charge, because are they worth anything? : )
But then it's late and I'm spacey at the moment. So bear with my slow widdle brain.

I got into this to support my music performing habit. I play jazz professionally but it's not a 40 hour a week steady thing. And I refuse to move to a city where I'd get more work because I like where I am in the burbs. Got into affiliate marketing and then ebook/report publishing and now I'm hooked on the money. I used to think my dream was to be a well known musician but maybe the dream is shifting into a) making more money and b) retiring young. Stay tuned.
