Compile all of the above with PPCers evacuation of the forum, that talk used to dominate the conversation ~2009. I honestly can't tell you when the last time I've read an informative post here on paid advertising. Everyone apparently learned quickly from the acai fiasco. Sometimes it's good to shut your mouth when you're talking random people.

I think that has more to do with the affiliate marketing collapsing than people keeping their mouth shut for fear of the FTC or someone stealing their campaigns. Not to say affiliate marketing is dead, it's just nothing like the golden age of 2009 where anyone with a credit card and flexible morals could make 4 figures a day slingin berries.

heres my take:

G used to post helpful enlightening threads and commentary. In fact he spent his time setting up a helpful webinar after the first penguin iteration explaining the importance of the realities of the search ecosystem in which we are all happy to play in. All too many took the Guerillas advice for granted and allowed it to flow gently into one ear and with high velocity out of the other. Sometimes those get tired of doing the same thing over and over again because an intelligent man once coined that as insanity. Now he chills in the alps of Vancouver occasionally crossing through the kitchen and into the office to check on his old friends here as he is above and beyond a community seo these days.

So have a lot of people bailed from WF now? I took about a 3 year vacation and haven't seen a lot of the usual suspects the past few days.

It sure seems that way. As mentioned before, much of the conversation has moved off site. The members of WF treat each other like brothers. They name call, hurt feelings, embarrass, out, ect. Some get butt hurt and don't see it for what it is. Others get bored, leave the business, others get busy, and they go. The high quality threads have come to a stand still. Pick a reason.

The one thing I do know is this is very common. They come and go in cycles. Might be 2 months (were a good 2 months in) or it might be 6. But something will happen and the boards will be buzzing again. Maybe we just need some major drama?

Has anyone tried to network OFFLINE, forums is only one place to learn.

I learned how to make monies online here and been less and less active the last year. Just recently notice how much slower this forum have become lately. It's just the nature of the beast, nothing to cry on just hope you learned enough and met the right people.

And THAT, my friends, is the real grand plan of CEOSAM and IceToEskimos.
