Childfree (sometimes spelled child-free), also known as voluntary childlessness,[1] is a form of childlessness. Voluntary childlessness in women is defined as women of childbearing age who are fertile and do not intend to have children, women who have chosen sterilization, or women past childbearing age who were fertile but chose not to have children. Individuals can also be "temporarily childless" or do not currently have children but want children in the future.[citation needed] Mardy S. Ireland in her book "Reconceiving Women: Separating Motherhood from Female Identity" interviewed dozens of women from all ages and walks of life.
Don't want the responsibility and having to worry about them getting hurt ect. Plus I travel alot and will be doing so for the next 30 years, kids would tie me down. That's a pretty bold decision to make at such a young age. What makes you so sure you will never want to have children? Honest question.

Why get a vasectomy if you don't want kids? I can imagine doing it when you've already had 2 kids and you're sure you don't want more, but you can never be certain of something like that at 24.
There's plenty of contraceptive options that work that are less permanent, y'know.
