Who's Taken The h1n1 FluMist Vaccine?

It's not that it's necessarily more severe, but it is more severe to different parts of the population than the normal flu is.

No... the normal, or "seasonal" flu, is more severe to different parts of the population. Therefore it would stand to reason this is too. This isn't any more severe to different parts of the population that the normal flu is. It's a crap shoot.

Normal flu kills some 36,000 people a year (from the CDC page). It would stand to reason that a few people are going to die from this one too. Such is life.

I got a flu vaccine 3 or 4 years ago from my company and I still got the flu that year. They can't predict how the seasonal flu is going to manifest itself so at best it's guess work. You get a vaccine based on last year's flu. That doesn't mean it's going to protect you from this year's flu.

I'm an unhealthy slob. The people that seem to do the worst are those with no immune systems or those with over zealous immune systems. I'll take my chances.

Are you taking your chances with the vaccine or the skipping on it?

Much Respect Subigo

However, there is no way in hell, I am taking any flu shot, mandatory or otherwise. Way too much manufactured hysteria for a total of less then 10 deaths if that here in OZ. Now out of a population of roughly 20 mill, I am sorry but statistically that is Utter Hogwash. More people are dying daily of cancers in hospitals here then this H1n1 rubbish.

Gotta give to big Pharma though, they have got the Marketing in 2009 just about perfect. Getting People frightened shitless of what is in my humble opinion the normal yearly flu. Fatalities attributed to the normal flu are roughly 1000 a year. So you see this Bullshit just does not even bear up to normal scrutiny.

They say only the vaccine you buy over the internetz is unsafe, cause it could be just chicken broth or apple juice that's been "stepped on".

Here at school, there have only been 8 confirmed cases since the semester started so now they just do a general test (flu or no flu). The seasonal flu vaccine is supposed to be here before the H1N1, but I think the Health dept is gonna store enough H1N1 for the region because this is a pretty rural area and they don't want the pigs to get sick.

I got the vaccine, because like I said, I get the flu every year and it sucks. I'm in bed for a week, can't walk on my own, sleep 18 hours a day... it just sucks. And I've seen a lot of people get really sick from h1n1 over the past month (friends and family) and I just didn't want to tango with that shit.

Again, I've never had a flu shot or flumist before, but I figured to chance it this one time. I chose the flumist because of the live virus in it. I didn't want to mess with the shot and all the extra crap they put in it. Just give me the virus, let my body build up some antibodies, and I'll be good to go.

Um, I think you just reworded my post and agreed with me. I'm saying that each type affects different populations. From H1N1 (Swine) Flu versus Regular Flu: Which is worse? - WRCB Channel 3 Chattanooga News, Weather | : "And while 90% of regular flu deaths occur in people over age 65, the H1N1 strain targets people under the age of 65. People under the age of 25 have proven to be especially vulnerable to H1N1."

I'm guessing that I'll probably end up going to get the vaccine eventually, but for now I'll just stick to washing my hands, getting enough sleep, and taking Tamiflu if I come down with symptoms.

Both I reckon. It's up to you to pick the lesser of the two evils.

Fair enough. As with SARS and whatnot, it's often the healthiest that suffer because it's the body's own immune system that ends up killing the person.

I haven't seen anything unusual vs the regular flu. By all means lay the info on me because I'm not seeing it.

This new strain is different from regular winter flu because it strikes the young far more than the old, and child deaths are drawing particular attention. Eighty-six children have died of swine flu in the U.S. since it burst on the scene last spring — 43 of those deaths reported in September and early October alone, said CDC's Dr. Anne Schuchat.

That's a startling number because in some past winters, the CDC has counted 40 or 50 child deaths for the entire flu season, she said, and no one knows how long this swine flu outbreak will last. Half of those early fall child deaths are among teenagers, also surprising as preschoolers are thought to be most vulnerable.

Also in contrast to regular winter flu, swine flu sometimes can cause a very severe viral pneumonia in otherwise healthy young adults, the World Health Organization warned Friday.

Typically, influenza weakens people so they're vulnerable to bacterial pneumonia, especially those over age 65. But the new H1N1 can dive deeper into the lungs, in "small subsets" of patients who go into respiratory failure within days, said WHO medical officer Dr. Nikki Shindo.

I got the shot, because I have asthma. I never get regular flu shot, but decided to because of this. No side affects at all. I didn't even feel the shot. Maybe you wouldn't have such a reaction to the shot. Suck your having all the troubles though.

I was really sick for about 4/5 days about two weeks ago, i ran a fever of 101 to 102 for damn near 3 days. I almost went to the doctor but i started to feel better. Now i dont know if that was the H1N1 virus or just a normal flu but all i know is, is that i have never ran a fever for that long or that high. I do know a few people in my area that have been confirmed with H1N1, but who knows.

The seasonal flu isn't going around yet, so, unlikley you had it.

Stick that shit up your asses, come on people we are marketers not fucking sheep, if you fall for big pharmas bullshit you may aswell buy some cock enlargement pills from me aswell.

panic hurr durrrrr. media hype, this is so circa.

flu has been around for a long time and this shit doesnt even compare to the spanish flu.

Nope, I'm fine now. I even got called to go in later next week to have my antibody levels tested. I think that might be the part where they activate the mind control!

The theory of swine flu vaccine isn't mind control, it's population reduction, now you sure you are feeling ok? lol.
